Rebels challenge Dukes

COLUMBIANA — The high winds, warm temperatures and sunshine didn’t line up for a Crestview baseball win on Friday against Marlington.

The Dukes scored five runs in the seventh to take a 9-5 win.

Dylan Heatherington went 3 for 4 for the Dukes.

Luke Julian had a single and double for the Rebels. Wyatt Ervin had a double.

Isaac Unkefer took the loss with five strikeouts and two walks in six innings.

Crestview is 2-6 and will host Champion on Monday.

West Branch 15,

Columbiana 3

COLUMBIANA — Eleven West Branch players scored as the Warriors routed Columbiana, 15-3, in six innings Friday.

Jeremiah Thomas led the charge by going 3-for-3 with a double, two walks, two stolen bases and three runs scored. Evan Springer and Anthony Perry each scored two runs and drove in another.

The Warriors scored in each of the first four inning to take a 11-0 lead.

Trevor Minich was the winning pitcher, giving up one earned run on six hits with eight strikeouts and one walk in six innings.

Ethan Lehnerd took the loss, giving up six runs, all earned, on three hits in three innings. He struck out three and walked four.

William Bucci went 2-for-2 for the Clippers (5-8). Max Conway added a double.

West Branch evens its record to 5-5 heading into Tuesday’s game at Alliance.

Poland 9, West Branch 3

POLAND — Elliana Thompson hit two home runs in the opening two innings, doubled and drove in five as Poland defeated West Branch, 9-3, Friday.

Sydney Bulick added a two-run single.

Lillian McDonald earned the complete-game victory, scattering six hits and three runs. She struck out seven and walked none.

Klary McKay took the loss for West Branch, giving up seven runs on four hits and three walks in two innings.

Mati Hawk had two hits with a double and three RBIs for the Warriors. Ellie Tucker also had two hits.

West Branch (9-3) will play at Salem on Tuesday.

Station Camp (Tenn.) 15, Salem 0

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — Salem was limited to two hits in a 15-0 loss in four innings to Station Camp (Tenn.) on Friday at the Ripken Experience.

Channing Toy had a triple for the Quakers.

Emilee Lewis took the loss as she walked four and had four earned runs in 30 pitches before exiting.

Station Camp is 16-7.

Greeneville (Tenn.) 10, Salem 4

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — Greeneville (Tenn.) opened up the game with five runs in the third to score a 10-4 win over Salem on Friday at the Ripken Experience.

Channing Toy, Anyeya Jones and Mave Johnson had doubles for the Quakers.

Emilee Lewis was the losing pitcher with nine walks and four strikeouts in six innings.

Salem (5-7) continues its trip on Saturday with a pair of games.

United at Wellsville (DH)

WELLSVILLE — United racked up two Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference wins on Friday over Wellsvile.

The Eagles won the first game 21-1 in four innings. Peyten Kekel had two hits and three RBIs for the winners, while Chloe Angelo had two hits and two RBIs. Josie Wargo and Brittany Miller had two hits each.

Jillian Dietrich was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts and three walks in four innings.

Madelyn Landess took the loss for the Tigers with seven strikouts and seven walks.

In the second game, Kekel threw a no-hitter in a 16-0 win in four innings. Kekel struck out six and walked two.

Wargo had three hits including a home run with four RBIs. Angelo had three hits and an RBI, while Miller had three hits and two RBIs. Callie Koons added two hits and three RBIs.

Madelyn Landess took the loss for the Tigers with one strikeout and two walks.

United is 13-1 overall and 6-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference. United is at Alliance on Monday.

Wellsville is 5-6 and 2-5 in the league.

East Palestine 9

UNITY –Campbell came on late to beat East Palestine 11-9 in nine innings on Friday.

Kara Lewis had three hits including a double with five RBIs for the Bulldogs. Kennedy Andre had two hits and an RBI. Andre took the loss in the circle with nine strikeouts and no walks.

East Palestine (3-5) will be at Lisbon on Monday.

Southeast 10, Crestview 7

RAVENNA — Ravenna Southeast used a balanced attack to dump Crestview 10-7 on Friday.

Chloe Stoops had two doubles, two singles and four RBIs for the Rebels. Alivia Shetler had two triples. Emma Snyder had a double and an RBI.

Snyder was the losing pitcher with no strikeouts and four walks in 2 2/3 innings.

Crestview is 10-3 and will host Champion on Monday.
