Marjorie L. Catlos

1926-2024

SALEM – Marjorie L. Catlos, 98, of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, at Salem North Healthcare.

She was born on July 26, 1926, in Salem, to the late Ralph and Irma (Hill) Odey.

Majorie is remembered by her children, Martin (Connie) Catlos Jr., Marsha Stanley, and Marlin (Donna) Catlos; grandchildren, Daniel, Shawn, Heather, Michelle, Tiffany, Michael, Krystal and Danielle; 15 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lavine, Carol and Gloria.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Martin Catlos Sr., whom she married on Oct. 9, 1947. She is also preceded in death by her children, Marlene Springer and Mark Catlos; grandson, Matthew Springer; son-in-law, Jeff Stanley; brothers, Robert, Richard and Ralph Jr. “Nick” Odey; sisters, Florence and Janice.

Over the years Marjorie had worked various jobs, most recently she’s worked with her sister, Gloria Kane, as part of Kane Lawn Care, and sister, Carol Madison, with Carol’s Catering.

Marjorie was an active member of the Salem First Baptist Church and helped with many church functions. She had a great faith and love for her lord.

She volunteered at the Banquet in Salem and was known as a fantastic cook by her family, her sweet rolls and bread being her most famous.

The family would like to thank Salem North Healthcare for taking good care of their mother during her years there.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be given to Salem Baptist Church or the Banquet of Salem.

Visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home, with a funeral service immediately following at 11 a.m.

Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
