Leetonia Schools to host annual Family Fun Festival May 2

LEETONIA — One of the Leetonia school district’s favorite times of the year is quickly approaching, as officials invite the public to attend their 5th annual Family Fun Festival from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 2 on their campus, 450 Walnut St.

The event, which will be held at Hendricks Stadium behind the K-12 building, will include an inflatable fire truck bounce house/combo unit, face painting; various games like cornhole and a long football throw as well as visits from non-profit organizations (youth, mental health, families); employment opportunities; as well as local EMS and fire trucks.

Ryan O’Donnell, family school liaison who is coordinating the festival, said The Brightside Project once again will be present with the Sunshine bus.

District athletic director DJ Bob Vaia will be providing music, while Leetonia Mayor Kevin Siembida is expected to be on hand to answer questions regarding local government.

“This event is done to show what all Leetonia schools have to offer as well as to share all the resources that are available,” O’Donnell explained, adding that it is also a good way to increase enrollment.

Officials also will be grilling hot dogs, hamburgers and providing snacks for attendees at no charge.

In the case or rain, activities will be moved to the gymnasium.

Starting at $2.99/week.
