Columbiana council hears updates from city manager

COLUMBIANA — City officials kept it short and sweet Tuesday for their regular meeting, adjourning 35 minutes after starting.

The bulk of the time was taken up by city manager Lance Willard, who updated Mayor Rick Noel and council members on city employees’ work activities, grant applications and awards as well as legislation that they would be considering later that night.

All council members were present and approved a second reading of a salary ordinance for city employees, an emergency ordinance buying road salt at the Ohio Department of Transportation cooperative purchasing price, and the first reading of legislation to approve changes to city employee’s policy manuals.

An Elevate building department report was postponed until a future meeting.

The meeting concluded after a brief executive session for personnel with no action taken.

Starting at $2.99/week.
