“We didn’t have access to opportunities like this growing up in Northeast Ohio, and we’re thrilled to bring this experience to kids in our hometown,” said Alison Cleland-Flannigan, founder and creative director. “inFRAME Academy is part of a larger mission to make film arts education accessible to students from diverse backgrounds.”
inFRAME’s hybrid model equips students with foundational skills through online learning while giving them the chance to participate in hands-on filming experiences. Whether staying local or traveling to unique filming destinations, students gain creative opportunities tailored to their needs and aspirations.
This spring, inFRAME Academy will partner with Stage Left Players, a local community theater, to debut its first full course, “It’s a Mystery,” which will be filmed April 17 through 19. Online classes begin March 8. Additionally, the academy’s first promotional film, “Out of this World,” filmed in Lisbon, is now available on inFRAME’s YouTube channel. Summer filming sessions will expand to California, Florida, New Jersey, and New York, giving students access to one-of-a-kind creative experiences nationwide.
“We’re proud to launch this program in our home community,” said Spencer Cleland, technical director. “This is a personal project for us, and it’s exciting to provide professional filmmaking opportunities to small-town kids who might not otherwise have access to them.”

inFRAME Academy also supports military families and first responders by offering a special discount. “Coming from a family with military ties, we’ve seen firsthand the sacrifices these families make,” said Cleland-Flannigan. “This discount is our way of honoring their service and ensuring their children have access to creative opportunities.”
To further its mission of accessibility, inFRAME Academy provides financial assistance to students in need, supported by generous donations. Contributions help expand opportunities for young creatives in Lisbon and across the nation.
