A pallet yard in Lisbon erupted into flames on Monday, closing a portion of state Route 45 near the intersection of Lincoln Way as the Lisbon Fire Department and other local fire crews battled the blaze. Smoke from the fire, which began around 4:30 p.m. at the Lisbon Pallet located on Grant Street, could be seen for miles — as far away as Boardman and Carroll County. By 5:30 p.m. structures on the property were fully involved. Departments from West Point, Hanover, Center and Elkrun townships assisted Lisbon in containing the fire. Emergency crews remained at the scene late Monday evening. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation. The property has a long history of fires, with it last catching on fire in 2019.
