A ribbon cutting was held Tuesday in preparation for and celebration of the new Jersey Mike’s Subs in the East Gate Plaza at 2337 E. State St. today. Jersey Mike’s will be open daily from 10 a.m. through 9 p.m. every day. The management and staff at Jersey Mike’s said they were excited to begin serving the community and happy to be in Salem, with CEO and Owner of Cedartown Foods Aaron Rosenstein saying he felt like it was fate to open the new restaurant in Salem as one of the city’s founders was originally from New Jersey. Jersey Mike’s has already begun to involve itself in the community, partnering with the Salem High School Athletics Department for a fundraiser running today through Sunday in which participants can receive a card redeemable for a free regular sub with a minimum donation of $3 to the athletic program. Shown are Mayor Cyndi Baronzzi Dickey, General Manager Jazmyn Dingman, Cedartown Foods Chief Operating Officer Kristina Fisher, Cedartown Foods Director of Operations Padden Nelson, and Rosenstein, flanked by Salem Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors.
