B.E. opens at 6.

A little early for me, but would make it work.

Bummer. Yet another example of why I hate change. I really have enjoyed keeping up with news in my home town these last several years, but if I'll soon have to pay a fee to do it while at the same time can't post any comments; I guess it's back to cruising car and motorcycle forums for me.

I no longer waste my time on Editorials, Letters, or Local Columns that have no comment section. I have no time for wimps.

Am I the only one that commented on the Journal?

FYI, the article on the Morning Journal about going to a paywall is open for comments, if anyone wanted to make their thoughts known on an on-topic article.

"Or Numnudz, you/we could just pay money for the paper. "

I'll have to pass on that. I don't trust the management of these sites. Too many deleted posts/comment sections when people get too close to the truth.

Can't justify paying those who demand a free press and censor others' opinions.

"I may actually email Numnudz once just to let him know who I am! "

That would be nice, please include what biz you run. I tend to patronize the businesses of Club members and friends, even the digital ones :)

We have two emails...

jlkozar@aol****

kozy62@yahoo****

Also on twitter and Facebook under Joe Kozar through the kozy62 email.

I hope this doesn't change but everyone should settle on someone's email and keep it going.

BTW...breakfast at B.E. in a couple weeks?

Oh yes, the lovely paywall... the industry's past grasp effort to avoid going under. Larger city newspapers do this and it fails because there is competition, but unless someone launches a new paper or the Vindy starts covering Columbiana County, this will actually be effective in this area. If they really were looking to save money, they would reorganize the 3 papers covering the county into 2 (for example fold the MJ into Salem News and EL Review since everything in it is duplicated articles from the other 2 anyway)

For an example of their paywall, check out the Warren Tribune or Marietta times, as Ogden rolled it out there already. There's no limited free views/clear the cookies workaround, everything is locked. It looks like you can still comment as we do for free, but you're commenting on 3 sentences of article if you're not a paid subscriber, as that's all you have access to.

Actually, I think WE should be compensated for our contributions to this forum. Aren't we part of the entertainment that the Salem News is providing on this site?

The Coshocton Tribune changed over a year ago, you must subscribe to read full stories. You can post comments using facebook only.

They give you so many viewings free to get you to subscribe, but when the free viewings run out just delete your cookies and your free viewing starts again.
