Welp, looks like all the bad rumors about the Salem News being freedom of speech crunching monsters was proven wrong. Lo and behold, the comments under the article are once again. LOL

Thank you Salem News.

HEADLINE: Energy Markets Are On The Brink Of Crisis

The petrodollar has always been seen as invincible — a common denominator, a mathematical constant. This is a delusion fed by a lack of knowledge and common sense...

A very real danger within energy markets is the undeniable threat that the U.S. dollar may soon lose its petrodollar status and, thus, Americans may lose the advantage of low gas prices they have come to expect.

Headline: Canada OKs oil pipeline to the Pacific Coast

TORONTO (AP) — Canada's government on Tuesday approved a controversial pipeline proposal that would bring oil to the Pacific Coast for shipment to Asia, a major step in the country's efforts to diversify its oil exports if it can overcome fierce opposition from environmental and aboriginal groups.

Approval for Enbridge's Northern Gateway project was expected as Canada needs infrastructure in place to export its growing oil sands production.

=====> The project's importance has only grown since the U.S. delayed a decision on TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline that would take oil from Alberta to the U.S. Gulf Coast. <=====

Thank you President Obama, and Luddite environmentalists.

Gas prices in Nothern Kentucky is $3.99 and $3.89 here in S.W. Florida...up by $.15 since the uprising in Iraq. I hear it might hit $5.00 in California soon.

And by all rights they don't have to give a reason. Not the best customer service move, but they are obviously fully entitled to do whatever they want with their website.

Yup, Journal the worst for deleting comments. I wrote them several times and finally got a reply, said they could delete anything they found that violates the terms of service. They never said HOW the comments, that did not contain vulgar language, could be 'offensive'.

To be fair WatchDog, the Salem News has always been very fair with their comment sections, only pulling real egrigious stuff. It's more the Morning Journal where I have seen whole comment sections go bye-bye and disabled midstream. I know there's a lot of overlap between the papers, but they apparently have different people running the websites.

One more thing, the reason I asked that ts1227 and I forgot to mention. I checked all the past news stories and all comments are intact under all of them so they didn't delete any of them and at least none of mine. They are all there. Some I picked on Mr. Johnson on some things I disagreed about and they were not deleted.

ts1227 I am not disrespecting you here but do you know that to be a fact?

I heard it was just a html programming issue and it was going to be fixed.

But then again, after some of the behavior on these comment sections I would not be surprised. I just read another poll column and it was off the chart of bad. I personal attacks were unreal. People even asked for it to stop and this person just kept going. I know we are all guilty at times in the heat of the moment but that was off the chart of bad.

In defense of the paper, freedom of speech does not exist here, or anywhere on the internet, as this is a website owned by a private entity and we're all just visitors.

In criticism, between Mr. Nutting at Ogden corporate level, and Mr. Johnson in this county, you're going to get a TON of one-sided picking and choosing on the comments/articles, but it technically is their right as a private entity.

It's not the News, it's the company that owns them, the Journal, the Review, and more.

They have been deleting posts at the Journal that are critical of local politicians. If questioned too much about it, they delete your account. Hence, numnudz.

"Hopefully a glitch that will be fixed soon."

Q you are right, it has to be a glitch, the Salem News would never stoop to the level of the idiot we have in the White House and try and silence our rights to "Freedom of speech". Salem News has more class and integrity than that idiot. They will fix it.

Kozy, it's been 3.51 for several days at Marathon Circle K @ S. Lincoln and the bypass. I really expected it to spike since oil did.

"OBAMA: 'Our Future Rests' on DREAMers... "

President Obama, did you mean the United States, or the Dimocrat Party? Because I really don't think we need to legalize 12+ million criminals (they DID break into our Country) to compete for already scarce American jobs.

I have a better idea: Arrest and deport ALL illegal aliens, like the law that you will not enforce says.

That one, and the 'lost' email story, are the most unbelievable to me.

The 'lost email' statement is just a bold-faced lie. Their servers should be running a RAID setup (redundant hard drives) and a tape backup, inless their IT people are totally incompetent. Also, their email provider will have copies of every email sent for years.

So, then I began to wonder if the N.Y. Observer was trying to blame his (Obama's) muses and let Obama slide again?

If so, is this opinion just a means to protect Obama...then you ask, who choose the muses?

Or, what about the latest opinion piece from the very liberal N.Y.Observer...

"As Ninth Circuit Chief Judge Alex Kozinski has written, prosecutorial misconduct has become “an epidemic.”" And evidence has come to light that our president, the nation’s chief law enforcement official, seeks his counsel from the worst.

If ever a picture was worth a thousand words, it is a recently released White House photo of President Obama and his muses—if one only knew the truth behind those muses whispering in the President’s ear as they strategized in the aftermath of the Benghazi tragedy. To understand the (politely-put) “lack of transparency” from the White House, the enormous politicization of the Department of Justice, the release of Taliban leaders from Guantanamo, refusal to cooperate with congressional investigations, the IRS’s harassment of political opponents, and the cover-up of Benghazi...

And, one for bug...

Kathleen Willey, a Democrat activist who with her husband, Ed, founded Virginians for Clinton and helped send Bill and Hillary to the White House in 1992, is blasting Hillary Clinton’s recent claim that she and the president left the White House in 2000 dead broke.

"For her to say dead broke. I can tell you what it is to be dead broke and owing money."

Clinton, told ABC’s Diane Sawyer she and her husband “came out of the White House not only dead broke but in debt.”

“We had no money when we got there, and we struggled to piece together the resources...but, since the Clintons left the White House, they have been paid more than $100 million over 14 years. And when they left the White House, not only was Bill Clinton guaranteed a vast pension, but Hillary Clinton was not far away from a salary as U.S. senator. The houses Hillary Clinton mentioned were multi-million dollar mansions.

So?

It may because that there are so many anti Obama situations going on that they don't know which one to choose?

It also may be because Obama has fallen below or at Bush's popularity that posting things about Obama is no longer fun.

Maybe they just feel sorry for bug?
