"Ladybug if you are this dense to how and why it is so important that we strive to decrease home fires and how all of this effects a city overall, please, please move away from our community. You ignorance to this is destructive to our community."

That should be "Quote of the Year".

Bug how many years as a fireman are you claiming fame to again?

Got any lazy or stupidity remarks to the people who lost their house on 3rd. street,

I'm sure it's their fault.

How about the ones in Washington state who was stupid enough to build houses where a mud slide was going to happen ?..

Personally I think your remarks are uncalled for.

How come you never address your concerns in person ?

I just hope I get a chance to live in the perfect world before I die.

Why don't you just hustle down to 861 S.Lincoln and tell them in person how stupid and lazy they are.

And because their so stupid and lazy your insurance is going up.

"You deserve any bad thing that may ever happen to you, Watchdog. You define trash. You know who no one wants in their community? Scum like you."

From the man that believes everyone is ignorant but him. From the man who argues a battle with bullying and name calling. From the man that shoves a beer box on his head and posts it for every young kid on Facebook to rejoice over. From the man that strives to legalize pot. From the man that hates cops. Yes Grant, how we all know what a real role model you are for our community.

Stupid is as stupid does and Grant you have that down to a science!

Now keep up your reputation. Mr. Businessman of Salem, because the next death the result of stupidity could be somebody you love.

"That could be you some day.Just a little slip .Then we can crucify all of you."

Yes ladybug, I know that is your whole point behind this. YOU choose who YOU want to crucify when it's convenient for you.

It is easier to strive for ignorance and stupidity than it is to strive for improving the quality of lives. If I am scum for wanting to SAVE LIVES, what does that make you and Grant?

I agree 100% with Mtlhed and I would like to build on that. People do make bad choices, I do not feel any special duty to offer my sympathy when those bad choices don't turn out right. I'll reserve my judgement on the S. Lincoln Ave fire as it is unknown to me if a functioning detector would have saved the victim's life, but in cases where they definitely would have, or when people drive drunk, or try to beat the train at the crossing, or don't wear seat belts, and then get themselves killed I find it really difficult to be shocked at something so foreseeable.

I am tired of paying for bad choices of everyone else. If I can put on 12 month calendar every three months to buy 3 batteries as a reminder. Why can't they? Am I perfect? NOPE, we all make mistakes and we are all human. But guess what? We had better start striving for that excellence and looking out for each other. If Government gets total control, our freedoms are gone.

Sorry Mtlhed, I agree with most of your post except this. "I'm ok with it. It is what it is."

Because I am not okay with anymore. It is getting out of control. Behind every bad Government control are stupid people. We are the problem. It is not just Government.

"They are free to choose whether the gov't makes a law about it or not."

It how the laws are written that are killing us.

Just like the family recently on South Lincoln. $176,000 dollar home? Their negligence was destructive.

We pay for their stupidity, we pay for the laziness, we pay for their disregard for others. The higher the amount of money coming out of those home insurance pools? Who suffers for it? This family, will get insurance payoff, a new home and a boo hoo community to shore them up. In the meantime, every home owner in Salem that is shoring them up gets a jacked up insurance premium.

You want to write laws. Don't reward stupidity. The people should have their insurance rates jacked up to make up for the losses to that insurance pool. Punish them, not us.

Every time those fire trucks run, it costs us money. Every time the fireman put their lives on the line, that "stupid" endangers their lives. Is this enough to get people awake?

I think it's mostly laziness and sloth. Just look at all the Christmas lights you see out on a porch, still hanging in July. Do you think those that can't even mow their yard will somehow think to change batteries in a smoke detector? Likely not. No matter what we do and no matter what we say, a large percentage of the population will do whatever. And things will crash and things will burn. I'm ok with it. It is what it is.

What I meant was that the nannys (all gov't agencies for the most part) have always told us to: wear your seat belt, use proper child restraints, put new batteries in detectors, etc. etc. And yet all these accidents still occur. My point is that they always will, because people are free to choose. They are free to choose whether the gov't makes a law about it or not.
