I've heard from various sources over the years that the tobacco companies have intensified the amount of nicotine found in cigarettes and have therefore increased the likelyhood of addiction. If the government wants to make itself useful, then it should start regulating that aspect of it and then people really could decide for themselves if they want to smoke or not.

Yes, I know...me endorsing a new form of gov't regulation is quite shocking, but this is one of those few matters in which I believe the gov't does need to interfere for the sake of the greater good.

No, and for selfish reasons, as that gigantic tax burden would then be put back on all of the rest of us!

I have no problems with the regulations we have in place on it, though (eg. indoor ban).

When my wife gets that certain look on her face, I know it's about to get ugly. She turned and fired back at this 200 lb woman, very over weight woman and said...hey tubby, I don't tell you what you can't and can shove down your throat don't be telling me what to do with my body. My body, my decision, butt out.

Of course, I think I spit a gulp of lemonade shake for a new record. LOL Point is, I don't smoke, I prefer my wife didn't but it is her choice. It is like alcohol, fattening foods, etc, etc. We can't have gov controlling every aspect of our lives or freedom will no longer exist.

Last year, the wife and I took up our daughter and a few of her friends to the Canfield fair. We had parked our worn out butts near the rock waiting for the kids to meet up for the normal checkin or your punished for life threat. The wife smokes and she is one of those types that she is lucky if she smokes a pack in a month. But when she stresses out she'll grab a smoke. Kids were running 2 mins late! LOL

She lit up a cig. Two women walked up and parked their butts on a bench next to us. One of the ladies turned to my wife and asked her to blow her smoke in another direction. Normally the wife is considerate of those around her that don't smoke and was about to put it out UNTIL this same lady decided to a nasty shot at the wife and told her she just doesn't understand why people like my wife put that junk in their system it was so unhealthy. continued..
