"TripleD can you prove God doesn't exist?" I can prove the God that man has written books about (Bible, Quran, Torah, ete, etc) does not exist.

On this subject, just an interesting comment for D3. I watched a PBS show. Bones were found in cave in France(?) Had washed in due to a flood. Tested them-said they were stronger than Olympians'. Their conclusion was that these early men had no communication skills or memory because to be that strong they had to walk all day all the time hunting food.
My conclusion: (First, a flood: Amazing how every culture, even Eskimos have a big flood story.) But I believe Genesis and believe man was created perfect, at full capacity (using 100% of brain matter--why is it we don't now, according to evolution?). So bones in cave led me to see support for Genesis.
Same info, differing worldviews, different conclusions.

TripleD can you prove God doesn't exist?
Hey TripleD, I wasn't around lately. But you saw my first problem with the idea of no God. No inherent purpose. I have a hard time buying that that somehow changes when a human is made.
I believe God was, spoke, and everything else came into being. Others believe that there was nothing (no, I guess they believe somehow there was something) then there was a magic moment and things came into being. Which is harder to believe? (Or are they equally hard to believe?--I kinda think so.)
But most of evolution, especially at that point, flies in the face of the laws of thermodynamics (entropy, specifically).
And in general, things degrade over time rather than the reverse. Correct?

And, if professors believe this way... is it any wonder that one, for the sake of having their name in print, would say that the "Star Spangled Banner" is a war anthem? He and others like him, just seem foolish.
And, Dr. Green who continues to promote the inter breeding of "certain types of humans" leaves many more to question than answers of questions asked. And he admits that there is such a minute difference that it's tough to reconcile except to allow for more grant money...or to say the ones with neanderthal DNA have red hair and not from Africa. Wow!
But, I still believe that Almighty God created us all the way He wanted to and I keep praying.
Deny a chimp bred with a pig because you and some scientist who supposes it happened...yep.
Say the world is flat is blame put on the shoulders of Christians...silly.
I believe, if your honest, non Christians or those who use the title to do bad things have killed far more than Christians...millions alone through abortion.
These were easy...and I continue to pray.
"And the latest liberal scientist claims to have determined that humans just happened to happen when a pig bred with a chimp" There is the Religion that I know. Deny science and keep the world flat for another 1000 years. Lock up the brightest minds and brand them heretics. Explore the new world and have the priest bless the rape and murder of the native peoples. Burn innocent young woman at the stake because God told someone they were witches. Excommunicate those that do not agree with you because why wait for god to punish them when you can do his bidding here and now. Deny global warming is happening while the biggest storm ever hits the Philippines. I am sure there were a lot of people praying on those Islands before they were sweep out to sea. Then after thousands are killed, find one survivor and make the claim that God heard that one persons prayers. Yes, that is the Religion that has murdered people throughout history and you just keep on enabling it to do more killi

And the latest liberal scientist claims to have determined that humans just happened to happen when a pig bred with a chimp...if you know the human body...well, let's just say that it it must be that gazillion year carbon dating stretch kind of thing.
Then again, if a liberal says something enough, it it picked up by other liberals as truth and they just keep it going. Pretty soon scientists and educators, even though there is no truth...start to report it and teach it.
Me, I stick with God as the creator and keep praying for both those who believe and those who don't.
Natural selection does not produce off-spring out of any intent or purpose except for survival of the fittest... Until the species becomes sentient. Once a species becomes sentient, 'I think there for I am', the first question is always 'why am I?' That leads to speculation which leads to Religion. We have only one known example of a sentient species since the Neanderthals ended up mixing in with us 30,000 years ago. Of course Religion does not really allow for that little fact does it? You do know that you can now have your genome checked to see what percentage of Neanderthal DNA that your lineage has, don't you? That must really throw a wrench in your biblical history. :>)
Questioner...you'll find it's hard to reason with an individual who chooses to believe in nothing but what they read or hear from those who can only speculate.
Just speak the Truth and pray...it's still his (TripleD's) choice. I only hope and pray he chooses well!
Natural selection does not produce off-spring out of any intent or purpose. Correct?
questioner, It sounds like you believe that without God there would be no purpose to life. I find that very sad.

Very sad...but I continue to pray.
But on the subject of God or no God, a birth under natural selection/evolution comes with no purpose, there is no reason to be. And definitely no reason for any moral code.
I personally find that thought very sad.
Okay, so what's frustrating to me is that people don't say that Hobby Lobby has already provided insurance to employees and HAS Provided Contraceptives and birth control under that insurance plan.
They Don't want to be forced to provide Plan B contraceptives because that is a form of birth control that works after conception (so a form of abortion). They don't want to pay for abortions. I think that should be their right. (And why isn't anyone mentioning all the right things they have already been doing with insurance?)

"the Supreme Court seems to be leaning otherwise." That would be the same Supreme Court that sold elections in the United States to the highest bidder, right? Have fun keeping your 1st Amendment Rights under the rule of the Koch brothers.
" When will you people quit trying to force your Religious beliefs onto others? "
When will you people stop trying to strip our rights from us?
TripleDORK, the Supreme Court seems to be leaning otherwise.
"Forcing employers to provide contraceptive coverage in no way prohibits employers and their employees free exercise of their Religion."
If an employer is forced to provide contraceptives against his/her religious belief, it is obviously a violation of their rights.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" Forcing employers to provide contraceptive coverage in no way prohibits employers and their employees free exercise of their Religion. That has always been a misconception on the Right and the current conservative position is a violation of the 1st amendment rights. If you really wanted to protect the 1st amendment rights you would be saying that Employers may not force their religious beliefs on their employees not the other way around. The employee has the right to refuse any assistance based on their religious beliefs. When will you people quit trying to force your Religious beliefs onto others?

"If so, why haven't we seen evidence of more of these 'accidents'?" Our universe is 14 billion years old. Our solar system is 4.5 billion years old. We have only had radio technology for less than 150 years. There has probably been millions of civilizations that have risen and fell before we had radio and there will be millions of civilizations after mankind is dead and gone. At least give it a few thousand years before you reach the very self centered conclusion that we are alone in the universe.
" Our Sun is one of 400 to 500 billion stars in our Galaxy. Our Galaxy is one of hundreds of billions of Galaxies in our Universe."
And only one where we know there is life.
Look around you next time you're out in the woods. Do you really think that all the life on this planet was just an accident?
If so, why haven't we seen evidence of more of these 'accidents'?
By forcing employers to provide contraceptive coverage against their religious beliefs. It's been in the news for a couple years, but maybe you didn't notice.
Just how is the Affordable care Act an attack on your Freedom of Religion Genius?
Freedom of religion, genius.
