Better than the smell must be from being buried underneath it. I'm shocked you even get internet service under there.

Did the American people have the right to negotiate Obamacare? Obamacare was passed against the will of the majority of the people. Every single poll in America since Obamacare came into the picture has reflected that fact...

I want to burn your house down. No Let me burn the second floor down. No Let me burn a room on the first floor. No. We need to get together and decide what part of your house I get to burn down. No. Oh, won't negotiate uh?

Do I have this correct? Republicans saw an opportunity to negotiate (which is what everyone does and has done--it's a large part of how the system works) Obama said he would Not budge one inch (which is Not how it has always been done) Stopping at that point, who was responsible, at that point?

Spending days spinning the facts doesn't change things. The republicans caused the shutdown and the republicans will pay the price for it. Accept it.

And if it's true that some people will opt for part-time and much more subsidized health care costs and come out ahead (I gotta admit, I'd do that if I could) then, those people are paying in less in taxes, social security, etc. (And possibly then qualifying for other government benefits.
Just how thought out was this???

Has anyone ever stopped to think where the money is going to come from for the subsidy that people are going to get to purchase insurance? This program is going to bankrupt this country. Remember when the government pays or provides services taxpayers pay. You don't get anything for nothing, someone is going to pay somewhere along the line. The only money the government has is the people's money.

How can you tax citizens for not buying insurance from a website that does not work. Hilarious.

The democrat senate has not passed a budget in over 4 years. Harry Reid should be jailed for treason.
And then there's obama, the biggest phony to ever occupy the WH. The reason we have so many problems, including the shutdown situation, is simply because there is absolutely NO LEADERSHIP from the WH. He is a disgrace to the nation.

The Republicans do not have the votes repeal Obamacare so they shutdown the U.S. Government. Anyone who cannot understand that should be sterilized as allowing them to reproduce lowers the overall I.Q. of the U.S. population.

And, it seems ok to ignore this and other overspending? Really?
Louigi is correct, this can has been kicked so many times it is ridiculous. I wish we weren't here, but, maybe it's time to fix this mess. Saying it can be set aside for another day, another month or another year from now is not the answer.
An example of this admin. breaking our country's financial back:
The reason for this nationwide headache (Obamacare) apparently stems from poorly written codes, which buckled under the traffic that its engineers & administrators should have seen coming. The fact that Healthcare.gov can’t do the one job it was built to do isn’t the most infuriating part of this debacle – it’s that we, the taxpayers, seem to have forked up over $634 million taxpayer's dollars to build the digital equivalent of a rock.
The exact cost to build Healthcare.gov, according to U.S. gov. records, has been $634,320,919, which we paid to CGI Federal, a Canadian Co. They originally won the contract back in 2011, but at that time, costs were expected to run “up to” $93.7 million – a chunk of change, but nothing near where it ended up.
I hold the republicans somewhat responsible for the shut down, because if they would have held the line in the past, instead of caving it may not have come to this. As for the democrats, their fearless leader Obama, has been accused by some in forums like this and talk radio of impeachable offenses in the past. But what he has allowed to happen during this shutdown, most notably the failure to pay death benefits to the families of our fallen soldiers, is a crime. If this latest insult doesn't rise to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors, I don't know what does.

Back to Obamacare: Does the following sound acceptable to you:
"The perk that is usually offered only to full-time employees — affordable health care — will now be offered to part-time employees. As a result, millions of workers who are working full-time may choose to work part-time instead"
As a result: "Workers who choose to reduce their own hours may end up faring better financially by paying lower premiums offered to part-timers through government exchanges rather than working more hours and purchasing health care through an employer"
Work less, have better overall finances than a full-timer. Is there something inherently wrong with a program that does that?
That was before trillions in debt was added during his administration.
Quote: "Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. " Senator Obama March 20,2006 on the senate floor.
The Democrats are terrified of the TEA Party. They are afraid of a 2010 repeat in the 2014 elections.
In true Alinsky fashion, they must smear the patriots, as they cannot win a debate on the points of their ideas.

The Administration gets to choose what gets shut down. This is all on Obama.
