"In a stunning admission to the Wall Street Journal, a senior administration official admitted that while veterans wait for services and children wait for cancer treatments, the White House doesn't care how long the shutdown lasts because, "We are winning."

Said a senior administration official: "We are winning...It doesn't really matter to us" how long the shutdown lasts "because what matters is the end result."

Now we know why Obama is threatening to veto individual pieces of funding Republicans have offered to get those veterans their services and those children their cancer treatments through the National Institutes of Health. Why budge when all you care about is winning and you believe that you are? "

But this kind of rhetoric is the staple of the Left when anyone tries to block their socialist plans:

1. PRESIDENT OBAMA - GOP 'putting a gun to the American people's head'.

2. REP. GEORGE MILLER - GOP engaging in 'Jihad'.

3. SENATE MAJ. LEADER HARRY REID - 'Tea Party Anarchists'.

4. HOUSE MINORITY LEADER NANCY PELOSI - GOP are 'legislative arsonists'.

5. TOP WHITE HOUSE AIDE, DAN PFEIFFER - GOP have 'a bomb strapped to their chest … list of ransom demands'.

6. WASHINGTON POST - 'Ways to Punish Congress … Line 'Em Up and Shoot 'Em'.

7. MSNBC's CHRIS MATTHEWS - GOP are 'hostage takers'.

9. 'TIPPY-TOP DEMOCRAT' - 'Time to punch [Republicans] in the nose'.

10. PRESIDENT OBAMA (again) - Republicans are threatening 'to burn the house down simply because you haven't gotten 100 percent of your way.'.

11. TINA BROWN - GOP Donning 'Suicide Vests,' Boehner a 'Rallier of These Crazy People'.

It seems he thinks people who believe in a government limited to what the Constitution says it can do, are terrorists.

Unhinged.

DAY 2, America Held Hostage. We have learned a little more about the terrorist extremist holding America against its' will. Apparently, a small group within the Terrorists calling themselves the US House of Representatives, consisting of 20 to 30 members have been identified as Birthers, A very dangerous right wing extremist group. What this infiltration of the larger terrorist groups means, is unknown at this time. Whatever it is. It can't be good for America though. What we all need to know, is that, yes, while some people will suffer as a result of this terrorist action. No one is the top 1% is expected to be inconvenienced as a result of this hostage situation.

Obummercare is probably here to stay. If it flops, both sides will blame the other anyways and the people will as aways go with the spin of their political party. All dems will call you a lier if you point out that this was all their baby. Just hope you have a pile of cash and a friend who's a surgeon; if costs become outrageous and there are waiting lines for weeks to see a doctor. But even then, the gov't will tax you if you choose to have no insurance at all. So save up your pennies. I just hope that the dems are right and this law works out ok, otherwise we're all scee rewed.

Everybody has their own set of facts and won't be budged an inch toward the other side. I have no idea what the truth is because of all the spin and all the childish actions and reactions. The real truth is in their somewhere but I have no time to go figure it out and it wouldn't do anything for me anyways. I'll just do like most americans; sit back and see what happens and hope the country doesn't go down the crap hole before I have a chance to grow old and die.

But they are not doing anything against the law.

Really, Phoenix!

If we had an entire Presidential election based on one singular issue then it shows how incredibly stupid the voting public is. However, the biggest issue during the presidential election was the economy, not Obamacare. In fact, we had the promise of repeal and replacement with Romneycare, which is what Obamacare was modeled after anyways. The sides weren't very far apart on that issue. What about the election in 2010, where Obamacare WAS the primary issue and republicans took the House back? All of those repubs that were elected were then expected to not go to Washington and fulfill the promises they made in their campaigns that got them elected?

Grant, I never said you couldn't cut mandatory spending, just that this bill isn't about mandatory spending. This past election, the most recent, was pretty much a fight over obamacare, obamacate won. As far as which side is holding the government hostage, it's not the democrats making demands, they have what they want, obamacare is not only funded but the law of the land. Hostage takers are always the ones making damands.

And the House passed it, lead by Pelosi and the Dems and then they lost their majority. What about that election? Are you still on this "you can't cut mandatory spending" nonsense? Because you can and they've proven it.

Mr. Romney ran on the promise to repeal obmacare, the president on the promise to uphold it, we know how that turned out and before you say people didn't know what they were getting in obamacare, remember how long ago it was passed into law.

But Concerned, obamacare is already funded, it's part of mandatory spending, like social security. The Democrates are not fighting to fund it they're fighting for a clean bill, it's the Rebublicans who are holding the bill hostage in an attemt to defund it.

phoenix the house republicans are part of the government too. As far as I am concerned and a rather large percentage of Americans Obamacare should be defunded. One could say It is the democrats in the Senate that are the ones that are holding the government hostage until their pet program Obamacare gets funded. Guess it just depends on which way you want to spin it. : )

Sorry concerned, got busy, didn't get to finish. What the house republicans have done is to insert anti-obamacare language into the bill in an attemt to delay and or defund it, thereby holding the government hostage to their demands.

You ought to quit with the idea that we follow the Constitution because as a liberal, it surely doesn't jive with other stances that I imagine you would take--such as issues dealing with the 1st and 4th amendments.
