concerned: "O to return to the mindset of the good old days."

The problem is that to republicans it means everyone takes responsibilities for themselves and to democrats it means a meaner country.

But, today's headlines...

"Census: Americans in Poverty Jumps 6.6M to Record 46.5M"...

"Record Food Stamp Rolls Outnumber Entire Population of Northeast USA"...

Whether we all agree on anything else, we should agree that our economy is sick.

" Why aren't we as a nation finding ways to create some self supporting jobs in this country,? "

Remember the days when people took the responsibility themselves to improve on their life and did not depend on the government to do it for them? O to return to the mindset of the good old days.

*****sad when over 50 millionpeople live in poverty in the richest country in the world.

Many of these so-called impoverished people are quite rich compared to many people overseas. Most of our people in poverty live in free or cheap housing with air conditioning and have food and color big screen Televisions. Nevertheless, able bodied folks shouldn't be allowed to just sit back and collect a check or free food; or at least not for very long.

Just another feel good program. Why aren't we as a nation finding ways to create some self supporting jobs in this country,?

We have all these low paying jobs and the tax payer ends up making up the difference.

A lg, %of Wal-Mart workers qualify for gov, assistance, The same with all the other low jobs across the country

Damn sad when over 50 millionpeople live in poverty in the richest country in the world.
