Irony=a person hiding behind a screen name calling out people for not explaining how they voted in a poll.

That is what frustrates me when these polls are left up to a yes or no.

Plus people will not say why they answered that way. If we don't have a clue to what our city officials are doing. Rely only on blind trust, that is how corruption grows.

Did somebody who clicked no because they don't care about what Gov is doing? Or did they click no, because they would rather attend council meetings and hope that others would do the same? It is all in a persons view of the poll question and that individual.

You mean apathetic like "the Emperor who 'fiddled while Rome burned'"? Again, I agree.

Thanks questioner I appreciate the support. The apathy people have today concerning our government is disheartening. My only hope is that they wake up before the form of government that we have come to know and love is no longer in existence. Historically most great powers of the world have been taken over because of complacency and have fallen because of what was happening from within their borders.

I think I understand how Grant, WatchDog, LadyBug, etc can get somewhat verbally abusive writing comments. I've asked this before, but How, how can people disagree with what Concerned wrote? That He thinks it's a good idea? That people should have an interest in their government? I guess blind ignorance is what pushes my buttons. No justification given for the disagrees. I do have to believe it is prejudice against the author rather than rational thought. And I guess prejudice is another button-pusher for me. Even though I know it's not rational, those non-verbal disagreers tick me off, and I think they always will.

That poll result does not shock me at all! So typical of Salem.

Salem news please get a new poll format. I beg of you! It's not always a yes or no answer...please, please, please.

I think it is a great idea. My hats off to those that had the foresight to do this. Knowing what is going on with the people's government is something everyone should have an interest in.
