Salem News I love you to pieces but sometimes these poll questions are a real hoot!
Sometimes I don't understand these poll questions. They can't even be close to accurate polling. So a study was done. What does this mean? You don't believe the study and you want confirm it? What is an average American?
25% percent have said no to this poll. Are they the rich? Poor who only drive back and forth to work and don't go anywhere else to begin with so their miles don't change regardless? Were these the elderly? Was it answered by people that don't own vehicles? Teenagers that only drive to school or their after school activities?
Seriously, why don't you just cut to the punch and ask the question. Are you FED UP with our out of control gas prices and the excuses for it and our do nothing Government that ignores it?
Now that Obama is fooling around with Syria. I dread to think what gas prices will be in the next few months!

I think the average American is now well conditioned to accept expensive gasoline. Twenty years ago, if the price of gasoline would have jumped 20+ cents per gallon over night there would have been mass panic and rioting in the streets. Today, the price jumps 20+ cents per gallon and no one bats an eye.
The fuel prices have already had an effect on the prices of other commodities, including food, but no one says anything. As a society, we are well on our way to where they wants us to be.

Ever hear the line "We export more oil than we import"? Is that supposed to make everything better? If that is the case, then why are we importing oil at all? How much does the price of oil go up when they pump it out of foreign wells and ship it half way around the world? Then our oil is shipped half way around the world to some other destination and thereby causes their prices to go up?
Sounds like a shell game used to keep prices from falling below minimum desired levels. This will be the future of all commodities...food, water, medicine, you name it. There's a short supply this week so if you want it you will pay a premium for it.

Some think so.
Kind of like climate change.
Some say yes,others say no.
Once we reach the point of no return.
Then what ?
Sea level is supposed to rise 3 ft, by end of century,

Has nothing to do with the rich ladybug. It has everything to do with decades of bad monetary policy. The dollar is hanging on by a thread, and the only thing keeping it holding on is that it's still the reserve currency for oil. If we don't buy oil from OPEC then their market share drops considerably, as does the value of our currency. We put ourselves in this box with too many years of defecit spending, printing and borrowing.
