The problem is that it is still a deficit. We need to get beyond deficits to paying off our debt!

No I'm not impressed...I'll be impressed when we run a surplus for 5 or 6 years in a row and start cutting into the $18 trillion deficit.. I'll be impressed when the federal govt employees have their compensation levels cut to "real world" levels...I'll be impressed when congress has the guts to bring all the out of control bureaucracies into line...I'll be impressed when our elected officials stop approving studies and research because someone in their district wants something...I'll be impressed when congress persons stop going on vacation on the taxpayer buck and call it "investigation"....I'll be impressed when our "fearless" leader blows $100,000,000 on an African vacation (unless they'd stay there) but cuts out White House tours to save money.... There is lots more that would impress me but I don't know how to make it happen because the government is now controlling the people and that ain't the way it's supposed to be.

So, I guess this means we are back to where our spending was toward the end of the GWB term, including the military spending of that time in the middle east? Where's all that money going now?

It is really a sad state of affairs when there are actually people that get excited about the government spending less money that we don't have than they use to. The fact remains they are still spending more money than they take in and adding to the debt. I really can't see how that is reducing the deficit. Seems to me our country is in a deep hole and just going into debt less is not going to get us out it is still making the hole deeper.

"... Mr. President, I will give you credit for one achievement. I thought it could never happen. You have single-handedly cured me of my work ethic and addiction to success. I am healed. Mr. Obama, you have set me free...

Mr. President, why should I sacrifice so your voters can have free Obama phones (now with free texting, too)? Why should I work for an abusive boss like you who resents my sacrifices? Why should I work long hours so your voters can grab more of my money, while classifying ambition, sacrifice, discipline and personal responsibility as “evil” or “greedy?”

Under your system, the more I make, the more you take. There is no incentive, so why put in the extra effort?

The answer is… I no longer will. "

We uns down here in Appalachia call that 'going Galt'.

On track? Hmmm...let me know when we actually get there THEN I might answer this poll question. A lot can happen in the next three years!

I'd be more impressed if it hadn't happen by complete accident with this useless, incompetent Congress.
