Well said, concerned.

rightway you are totally missing my point. Let me try again. Christ fulfilled the law for those that believe on him. As he took upon himself the curse of death and was victorious over it for his own. Those that do not believe on him are still under the curse of the law both Jew and Gentile. They will be judged by the law. The tricky part is to figure out what does it mean to believe on him. Knowing about him and believing on him are to totally different things. Believing is when someone puts their total trust in his finished work on the cross by taking the penalty for sin and tasting death which is the penalty of sin and his rising again victorious over death. Those that do not put their trust in him are still under the curse of the law which brings the knowledge of sin and that brings forth death. That is why God said thru Paul the law is our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ. It is only when someone sees the helplessness of their condition that they can truly embrace him.

I love to share the Truth with each other...like steel sharpening steel.
You see God is all truth and love. Anything apart from God is therefore not truth and love. Man cannot take God's place and when tried, it's way beyond a mess.
All these messes, such as gay this and gay that and men and women wanting same sex marriages and millions of babies being murdered every year through abortion is not by God but by man. Some day, Jesus will return and God will fix the mess for good but until that time, we need to follow God's leading through the Bible and be Christ like. We need to ask God to heal our land and keep spreading His truth.
Do not get caught up in another Christian's attempt to be honest and make him seem wrong because he uses the wrong word or phrase but help him message.
And, BTW, using the law to benefit themselves rather that the message of God.
But you are agreeing with me rightway..."feelings" can change if you are not a follower but should not if you are because they are based upon different foundations.
Kozy, if one has truth faith, not just belief but faith, in Jesus, and follows HIS example, preaching love for God and Love for neighbor, then your feelings of love will not change.
Concerned, the law was originally given to the Israelites. To distinguish them and set them apart from those who had no law. Paul was an apostle to the gentiles, yes. However he had major issues, and spoke much to and about those religious leaders who were getting it wrong. Who were using the law to keep people from Jesus. Keeping that line of purity (cleanliness) between themselves and everyone who didn't follow the law exactly as they did. Even going so far as to say he wished those who were forcing the "law" of circumcision on others to go ahead and emasculate themselves.
We have feelings...But our love is a true and truthful love. It comes from God and is far beyond just feelings.
You see feelings can change but God's love is forever if only we believe in Jesus and ask for forgiveness.

Kozy, how can a "true believer" NOT have feelings? The intent of a person's actions, which is the core of what we are judged on, is based on whether there is love. Love for God, love for neighbor. Period. Love is a feeling last I checked. An emotion. The entire law is summed up into this one. Love your neighbor AS yourself.
As we go through the day, prayer should be our first response to every situation, every thought, and every task that God commands. A lack of prayer will cause us to depend on ourselves instead of depending on God's grace. Unceasing prayer is, in essence, continual dependence upon and communion with the Father.
For Christians, prayer should be like breathing. You do not have to think to breathe because the atmosphere exerts pressure on your lungs and essentially forces you to breathe. That is why it is more difficult to hold your breath than it is to breathe. Similarly, when we are born into the family of God, we enter into a spiritual atmosphere where God's presence and grace exert pressure, or influence, on our lives. Prayer is the normal response to that pressure. As believers, we have all entered the divine atmosphere to breathe the air of prayer.
ts...a true believer prays to God at all times and evaluates actions according to Gods leading by the Holy Spirit. We desire to please God with everything we do. We act through His guidance and through knowledge, not "feelings". I'm not certain where you got that one.
Religion is also man setting standards based on their feelings as to what is good or bad, while using "God" as a crutch to justify it. At least non-religious people have a decent rationale because they actually put some throught into it.

One issue with society is that man sets standards based upon their feelings as to what is good or bad. God lets us know that good can seem bad and bad may seem good when man is in charge. God is very clear in His word.

rightway...those who are saved understand what sin is and desire to please God. Those who don't still know right from wrong...well, they should.
It was not just the Israelites that the law applied to. Paul said the law is the schoolmaster that brings us to Christ. Paul was the apostle to the gentiles. Christ fulfilled the law. However he did not fulfill it for everyone it is only fulfilled for those that have been redeemed by grace thru faith. All others are still under the curse of the law. Christ did not do away with the law it is still the curse on those that are lost.

We didn't know or understand sin kozy. That's why the the Israelites received the law. To give them a heads up.
Bob, we are the only entity created with a soul and therefore who could understand what is sin. Unless someone should ask my counsel as to what the Bible says about any subject, it's a matter of individual choices. Those choices should, as far as sex, should be a non news, private matter...now if they choose to please God...
ts1227, I agree that the government should have never got itself involved in marriage. It's nothing but a money draining endeavor. We have a better than 50% divorce rate in this country and we have a government that is now obligated to fund courts to sort out who gets the tupperware and bath towels.
Its true that established churches do not recognize gay marriage. My question is why hasn't the gay community established its own church? That begs further questions: Does a person have to be non-religious or atheist by virtue of his or her same-sex preference? Furthermore, why should a person's sexual preference dictate where they stand on abortion, gun control, immigration, welfare funding, etc.?

Homophobia is still prevalent, but as the last generation that is homophobic as a while continues to die off, it keeps shifting away from it.
I personally can't wait until the day where its to the point that people coming out is no longer "news", and it can just happen because it's accepted.
Whether one is homophobic or not, the fact remains that as long as governments are involved in marriage, they are not in the place to discriminate against it. No church has to ever recognize a gay marriage, but the government should have to. I don't understand why the government ever got involved in what is historically a religious thing anyway.
"...because I get sick to my stomach over the thought of two grown men in a bedroom performing sex in the most unnatural and unsanitary way.... "
Trying not to get too graphic here... if homosexuality is 'natural' or 'normal', then the 'exit only' portal wouldn't need lube, right?

"What cam you say about this statement, Does the right all feel this way? "
I can't answer that, beaumont, I can only speak for myself.
"If they want to tie the knot, let them! Their legal union is not going to impact my life in anyway. "
All gays have the right to get married in any State, now. All they have to do is choose a member of the opposite sex.
WatchDog: I see your point.
