Oh well, big gun show, income taxes done and a memorial for a friend...way too much to do tomorrow. But, it' going to be 75 and not a cloud in the sky.

there are a few who disagree with anything certain people post.
Yea, I know. It still drives me nuts though. Oops, I mean "psycologically disadvantaged." I didn't mean to offend any Obama supporters.

Kozy, not only did we identify evil, we did something about it. No we just appease it.

Yes, sunshine, evil has been around way before us, but, Louigi is correct...we used to be proud to call ourselves a Christian nation and think evil was wrong.
Truely, the only answer is to make God's ways, our ways. Are you with me?

Mtlhed...there are a few who disagree with anything certain people post. And there is one very young person who just knows hows to disagree and those who only believe what MSNBC says. And at least three who want the terrorists to win as long as Obama can get a pass.
I agree sunshine, the difference is that in the old days we recognized evil, we called it evil, now stating the facts, or the truth is politically incorrect.

"The bottom line for me, the world is being turned up side down in this current generation. Good is evil and evil is good. "
There is nothing new under the sun.
I honor and respect my late mother, my wife and my 4 daughters. I want my daughters to be all that they can be, if the military was their choice I would be proud. If while in a supporting role they were lost to hostile action, I would consider it tragic. But if I lost a child because it furthered some leftist political agenda, I would consider it murder.
The bottom line for me, the world is being turned up side down in this current generation. Good is evil and evil is good. We kill our unborn children in the millions, but will go to any length to save a whale.
How many women will have to be raped and tortured as result of capture or die in actual combat before the radical feminists get what they think they have coming. They of done a great disservice to women in general.
The last statement of the my previous post refers to the fact that in general, military inductees of either sex are not any different than college age and older high school students. The have the same dreams as any other american youth, and more important, their hormones are raging. These factors can be tolerated and overcome in units where close combat is not a primary mission, but in an army or marine unit it is a distraction that can have a dire effect on unit readiness. I can come at this issue from a couple other directions and come to the same conclusion, women should not be allowed in infantry combat units, even if they feel it is there choice.
I also served in the Air Force with women. With 12 years experience in the matter, I could relate some factual anecdotes that would really make the leftists mad. I will say this, in my 12 year career, some of the best, most dedicated NCO's that I served with, were were women. As a matter of fact my wife is a 12 year Air Force veteran, an aircraft crew chief. In my specialty many a man was assigned to other duties because they didn't have the size and strength required to do the job. When women came on board, the physical standards were lowered, in order for them to qualify for the position. My duty did not entail combat, and in most cases lack of physical strength could be overcome by mechanical means or by simply getting some help. Any one that believes that the physical difference between men and women would not be a factor in combat, is an idiot. Not to mention factors such as unit cohesion, moral, and readiness.
Someone actually disagreed with my comment about the journalist almost being abducted. I guess he or she disagrees with me about the mindset of terrorists and many Arab countries. Perhaps I'm wrong and they were just dragging her off to give her a free mani and pedi.
"Has any one commenting ever served with women in a military setting? And I don't mean in combat. "
Yes, I was USN for 10 years. 4 on 2 different ships, 3 at shore duty and 2 in the Reserves. Luckily, I never had to deal with all the issues that surround having a mixed crew. My first was a sub tender, generally mixed, but since I was home ported out of Italy, we had no women. My 2nd was a combatant, so no women. However, my combatant ship is now mixed. I've heard my old berthing is now the female berth. I did interact with and have experience with women during A-school, shore duty and the reserves, but telling my experiences and opinion will just set everyone off again, so I'll keep silent on that, unless provoked..LOL
Remember a few months back when that female journalist was nearly abducted right out of a crowd of protestors. I think it was in Egypt. She wasn't even in combat, but just being an American woman overseas nearly got her abducted. Gee, I wonder what they had in mind for her. I know the media doing their jobs is a whole different topic and unrelated, but my point is the mindset of many countries and their men towards Americans and specifically American women.
Why not use Maj. Rhonda Cornum, she was the pilot of a Black Hawk in Desert Storm? She survived torture and rape.
My main point exactly. She was raped. I have all the respect and admiration for her as a proven and experienced one star general, but again, I don't want our women captured and raped. Is it possible she never makes General if not for her experience in combat? Perhaps, but sorry, I say so-be-it. I don't want a pack of scum bag terrorists or other future enemies putting bullets in the heads of the surviving male captives, but dragging the surviving (or possibly even dead) women off only so they can get their jollies.
The Dems ceased the moment and lifted the ban without a approval of Congress. So the Dems could get the credit for equal rights for women. As usual, it was about the votes. Now it will be a bitter fight with no solution.
"I have come to the conclusion that women will have to join the draft."
That is where this will eventually end up thanks to Panetta and the Democrats. notSocialist the republicans started this. They are the ones that wanted to lift the ban from the Pentagon control and policy. The Republicans had the right idea just wasn't quick enough with it. They wanted to lift the ban but yet give control to the military that would allow them to determine if a woman could cut the mustard. As usual the Republicans didn't want to make any choices for any woman except to offer the open door of opportunity for equal rights but yet allowing these women to make that choice. Where they went from that point was up to them to cut the mustard.
Democrats would have lost a lot of votes with that move. Women who support women in the military and women choosing to join the military.
Why do you think Panetta did it? Out the door decision? Look who is going to replace him. A Republican.
Kozy it has always been about votes and how many they can get. Right and wrong of the issue isn't even the equation anymore. It's the war on words and the National Media is having a hay day with it. This stuff angers me. Look at this next line.
“Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law. For if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well.”
That statement is a line from President Obama's inauguration speech. It was two hours after he said it, it was on every national media station claiming that President Obama was the first president in history to support GAY MARRIAGE.
That statement Obama used was a direct quote that belonged to MLK. The only word that was changed by Obama's speech writer was he changed out the word "BLACK" and replaced it with the word "GAY".
The deception is horrible and how voters, especially gays fell for it.
Like a young lady who said the other day how grateful she was for MLK...when I told her that he was a republican and that he wanted color blindness not preference, she said she had no idea. Then yesterday she said that it was great that all women now had a chance to move up in the military and I asked her what had changed...she had no idea. So, I said that with the new liberal military policy towards women that her four girls would be subject to the draft if it were reinstated and she said no way.
I'm finding most often that liberals win through lies or deception. If the truth were know, liberals would be run out of town.
"I think my fellow conservatives missed this little gem."
I didn't miss it. I just don't respond to the same boring argument that Democrats escape to when they are losing credibility in their fights. That is what they use to side track. The best part I find comical when they use the term "adminstration". There are less minorities in Obama's administration than there were under Bush. Those racist accusations don't work anymore. Especially when you have Blacks screaming they won't ever vote for another white man again. Pointless.
Kozy there is more behind this "on the way" out the door decision made by Panetta. There has to be more to this. Women are already serving on the "battle front" that is why this whole issue baffled me from the start. That is why I tossed in the define "battle front" remark. Even the poll question was odd. We already have women in combat. Just a few weeks ago, they had a women platoon leader for the military in a congressional hearing testifying for the fight for military funding. She had just got back from Afghanistan. Like I said earlier in my comments. Something is not right with this whole issue. I just think it's a political stunt for Dems to wage war on the Republicans.
Mtlhed you keep using Jessica Lynch's capture as reference and I'm curious as to why? We all know why the media frenzy squared off on her.
Why not use Maj. Rhonda Cornum, she was the pilot of a Black Hawk in Desert Storm? She was on a rescue mission for a fighter jet pilot that was shot down inside of enemy lines. Her mission, this one of many she had flown unfortunately turned her into a POW along side the already captured 22 other men. Doesn't her successful missions account for anything as a woman? She was captured and released with those other men. She survived torture and rape. Today she is now a Brigadier general and a director of Comprehensive Soldier Fitness, the Army's authority on resiliency training for men and women alike. Can you not find any respect and admiration for this woman?
I also don't believe my wife and/or others I know would ever want to kill another...but...I guarantee that she would do what she needed to in protecting her children and grandchildren. And she's been trained, as every woman should be, to shoot.
Sorry...towards. My bad.
Mtlhed...who said they wanted women chained in the kitchen?
All I'm saying is that certain folks whether men or women don't now have a choice based upon the liberal agenda to force women to be the same as the guys. I'll bet there are some gals who will be fierce up front leading the charge toeards the enemy but some will not. Before this they had choices...now not so. It just shows how the progressive/liberals do not care about anybodies choices...it's all about their agenda.
