Columbiana County parks hosts night bike ride
LISBON- The Columbiana County Park District's August Night Bike Ride was held Aug. 23. It was the last night bike ride of the 2014 summer season held on the Greenway Bike Trail. Several cyclists participated in the night ride event as the Dean of Kent State Columbiana County Stephen Nameth lead the way.
Friendly Squares Dance Club to host intro to square dance

Monday historical society dances to resume Sept. 15
DEERFIELD- There will not be a Deerfield Historical Society Dance on the first Monday of September. Dances will resume on the third Monday, Sept. 15.
Trunk treasures sale slated at Austintown church Sept. 13
AUSTINTOWN- The Immaculate Heart of Mary will have a "Treasures in Your Trunk Sale," sponsored by its Social Concerns Group, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 13. The sale will take place in the church parking lot, 4500 Norquest Blvd. Only 100 spaces are available at $10 per space and are filling up fast. No refunds will be given for any reason. Take your own table (up to 8 feet) for setting up in front of your trunk. Homemade baked goods, food and beverages will be available. A used book sale will take place in the Parish Center at the same time. Also available this year will be a large selection of fresh mums from a local nursery. Stockwell-Lease reunion held at Centennial Park
SALEM- Thirty-two family members and friends attended the Stockwell-Lease reunion July 20 in Centennial Park. Michelle T. Daugherty gave the blessing for the 1 p.m. covered dish dinner. One death, Mary L. Lease, and three births, Lexi Jade Cross, Easton Lease and Hunter Guy, were reported. Many games and bingo were enjoyed by all. The youngest present was Arilynn Yankey. The candy jar contest was won by Fred Moore and Michelle Martin. The 2015 reunion will be held the third Sunday in July.
Highland School reunion held at Highland Church
SALEM- The 19th Highland School reunion was held Saturday, June 28, at Highland Church. Richard Ward gave the blessing for the noon basket dinner. The program was opened with the National Anthem and the pledge to the flag. Kendall Yorkey said the pledge to the flag. Raymond Beck reported on one room schools. Arlene Barnett presented a musical program on the piano, explaining the meaning of four songs. Prayers were asked for many of those who could not attend. The 2015 reunion will held in June.

Benefit concert for ACS to be held at Memorial Bldg.
SALEM- A benefit concert for the American Cancer Society will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Salem Memorial Building. The concert will feature Kassie Simpson, the Noble Brothers and Donnie Abraham. Admission is free.
