COLUMBIANA - Barbara Carol Kidd, 71, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014 at Hospice House of Poland.
She was born in Columbiana, on March 1, 1943, the daughter of the late Edwin and Viola (Barkley) Unger.
Barb was a graduate of Crestview High School and worked as a nurse's aide. She was a member of the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene, where she was a Sunday School teacher and cooked dinners for the church, served 33 years on the Columbiana County Board of Elections, was a Campfire Girls troop leader, loved flower gardening and sewing, but most of all loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Andrew Kidd, whom she married on Feb. 27, 1965; a son, Mike (Mary Jo) Kidd of Salem; three daughters, Gail Ann (Barry) Garrod of Orrville, Kimberly (Mark) Gilbert of Columbiana, and Carole (John) Fisher of Lisbon; 12 grandchildren and one great grandson. She is also survived by five sisters Sherry, Debbie, Bonnie, Marilyn, Patty and three brothers, Edwin "Sonny", Gerald and Larry. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Unger; a sister, Sandra Fraser; and grandson Tristan Garrod.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 at Columbiana Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jan Winnale officiating. (330 N. Elm Street, Columbiana).
Friends may call the two hours prior to the service from 10 a.m. to noon at the church. Interment will be in Columbiana Cemetery.
