LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Charles William Rogers, 77, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, Nev.
Born May 16, 1937, in Salem, "Chuck" was a 1955 graduate of Salem High School and had also lived in North Canton until moving to Las Vegas in 1980. He was retired from Motorola as a communications engineer. He was a member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Henderson, Nev.
He is survived by three sons, Charles R. Rogers of Carson City, Nev., Michael F. Rogers of New York, N.Y., and Timothy C. Rogers of Douglas City, Calif.; stepdaughter, Vickie Sponseller of Las Vegas, Nev., stepsons, Norman S. Sponseller of Reno, Nev., and Scott G. Sponseller of Canton, Ohio; granddaughters, Sierra and Kelli Rogers of Douglas City, Calif.; and two brothers, James Rogers of Lauderdale by the Sea, Fla., and Bruce Rogers of Salem.
He is proceeded in death by his wife, Nancy Ann Greening Rogers of Louisville, Ohio; parents Carroll and Sarah McKinley Rogers of Salem; two sisters, Doris Williams of Salem and Eleanor Rogers of El Paso, Texas; and brother, Lawrence Rogers of Salem.
Per his wishes, a memorial gathering will be held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21 at the residence, 2370 Bluegrass Lane, Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at donate.lls.org/lls/donate.
