SALEM - The Salem Historical Society's Underground Railroad Trolley tour on Saturday has been canceled.
Lisbon TD Club hosting dinner, auction
LISBON - The Touchdown Club will hold its annual spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Lisbon Lions Club to raise funds to purchase additional helmets and shoulder pads for the football players.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. Carryout is available.

Task Force member visiting Kent EL
EAST LIVERPOOL - Franklin County Commissioner Paula Brooks was appointed to President Obama's White House Task Force on Climate Preparedness and Resilience last year and is in the process of gathering recommendations to help communities better prepare for the impacts of climate.
She will visit Kent State East Liverpool at noon Monday in the campus' Quiet Study Lounge. Skin cancer screening moved to Sept. 23
LISBON - The free skin cancer screening for county residents slated for Aug. 26 at the Columbiana County Health Department has been rescheduled to Sept. 23.

Free grandparenting class offered at SRMC
SALEM - The Family Education Program at Salem Regional Medical Center will present a free grandparenting class for current or soon-to-be grandparents to learn about new approaches in child care.
The next session will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 13. Participants will meet in the New Beginnings Family Care Center.
The goal of the grandparenting class is to encourage communication, understanding and support between generations, while providing useful information to assist in child care. Topics covered include infant safety, nutrition, and medications. The course is free, but registration is required at 330-337-4989.

Permanent sculpture installed at fair
CANFIELD - The Canfield Fair Fine Arts department has installed a 13 foot wire/metal sculpture as a permanent outdoor community art project.
This is a first of its kind rooster sculpture in the form of a Love Lock installment. Local business owner, Shawn Lawless, created this exciting piece of art.
He has connections to Rose Bowl Parade and Disney floats. Fairgoers are invited to bring padlocks to add to the sculpture. Everyone can participate. For details call Suzanne Gray of the fine arts department, at 330-881-3557.
Walk to End Alzheimer's is Sept. 27
WARREN The Walk to End Alzheimer's on Sept. 27 is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research.

All Mustang Car Show planned Sept. 7
AKRON - The Northeastern Ohio Mustang Club will hold its sixth annual All Mustang Car Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 7, rain or shine, at Montrose Ford, 3960 Medina Road, Akron.
Proceeds of the show will benefit the Copley Fire and Rescue Association and Valor Home.
