'Mix-em up' will be held
during bingo at Saxon Club
SALEM - "Mix-em up" will be held today during Wednesday Night Bingo at the Saxon Club, 1980 state Route 9. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and early bird games start at 6:30 p.m.
The kitchen will be open serving beef tips and noodles, mashed potatoes and fresh sweet corn.

SALEM - The Salem High School Class of 1955's reunion planning meeting begins at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 11 in the SHS Alumni Office on East State Street.
The next luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 27 at Adele's Place.
'Ladies Day at the Range'

SALEM - "Ladies Day at the Range" will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Salem Hunting Club, free of charge, to females age 9 and older. Attendees are to bring their own guns, ammunition, bows and arrows and eye and ear protection. A limited number of loaners are available.
Pre-registration is requested at firstname.lastname@example.org. A firearms safety presentation begins at 10 a.m. Those arriving after the presentation will not be permitted to participate on the range.

ELLSWORTH - The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9571 Ladies Auxiliary is seeking crafters for its third annual craft show to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11 at the post home on Ellsworth Road in Ellsworth.

UMC Splash will be held
Saturday at pool in Lisbon
LISBON - The Lisbon Park and Sadie Van Fossan Pool, in cooperation with First United Methodist Church, will host UMC Splash on Saturday which includes a free swim from noon to 6 p.m. and a free movie in the park on the ballfield at night.
Lunch will be served at 3 p.m. in the park pavilion. Attendees are to bring a chair. The pool concession stand will be open during the movie.
Public breakfast buffet is
Saturday at Masonic Building
SALEM-A public breakfast buffet will be served from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Masonic Building, 788 E. State St.
Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children under age 10 and free for children under 2. The menu offers pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, homemade sausage gravy, biscuits, homefries, toast, fruit cocktail, orange juice, coffee and tea.
The building is equipped with a handicapped accessible elevator. Proceeds will be directed to the Salem Masonic Building Fund.
Leetonia Ruritan will host
Taste of Pizza on Aug. 28
LEETONIA - Leetonia Ruritans will hold a Taste of Pizza 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Leetonia School Campus cafeteria before the Leetonia/Lisbon football game.

T-shirt packages available for
upcoming DAHS season
LISBON - The Lisbon Athletic Department and Pep Club are selling T-shirt packets in five different designs for the five home football games this season. The shirt packets are $30 for youth sizes through adult extra large. All Lisbon students who purchase the shirt packages will receive a pass. With this pass they can pay $1 for each Lisbon fall athletic event they attend. Forms are in the high school office.
South Range presenting 'Meet
the Team Night' on Friday
BEAVER TOWNSHIP - South Range Local School District will start the new school year with a special event for the community in its first "Meet the Team Night" on Friday. Staff members, students and community members are invited to attend the free event that begins with the varsity football team scrimmaging Beaver Local at 6 p.m. at North Lima Stadium.
Following the scrimmage at 8:30 p.m., fall sports athletes in grades seven through 12 will be introduced, along with coaches and assistants. All high school marching band members will also be recognized. Fireworks follow.
This event was created by upcoming senior, Kendall Syms, as part of her senior project. Syms chose to create a South Range Spirit Club for her project to help get students more involved in school events and to show support for their school.
'Steppin' Out for Hospice 5K
Run/Walk' scheduled Saturday
ALLIANCE - Alliance Visiting Nurse and Hospice will host its annual "Steppin' Out for Hospice 5K Run/Walk," one of two annual fundraisers, on Saturday.
All proceeds from the event go toward Alliance Visiting Nurse and Hospice's mission of helping families.
Registration for the 3.1 miles race is $20 in advance or $25 the day of the event. The race will start in front of Alliance Community Hospital at 7:45 p.m. and the kids 10 and under 1K starts at 7 p.m.
All children in the 1K will receive a participation medal. For the 5K there will be awards for runners and walkers in each age division.
Register at the hospital between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday. There will also be a spaghetti dinner benefiting Hospice in the hospital cafe from 4:30 to 6:45 p.m. Friday. For more information call the foundation office at 330-596-7516.
