Great turnout for a great cause

More than 100 show cars were entered at Mr. Darby's first car cruise Sunday in North Lima. The cruise featured door prizes, music and trivia, a 50/50 drawing, Chinese auction, and dash plaques for the first 50 registered vehicles. It was a benefit for Debbie Grover of Canfield who is battling cervical cancer. Bob Neapolitan, who co-owns Mr. Darby's Emporium with his mother, said, "This is something we've wanted to do since we opened. We just haven't had the time or the facilities." The event was to be held rain or shine. Mr. Darby's received support from the Pizza Joe's next door that provided the pizza for the pizza-eating contest in which local reality-based entertainers "Fat and Furious" took on everyone. The show was open to the public. (Salem News photos by Larry Shields)
