SALEM - Dale B. Emelo, 70, of Salem died at 7:44 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at his home.
He was born Feb. 23, 1944, in West Brownsville, Pa., the son of late Joseph and Janie E. (Furlong) Emelo.
Dale was a tool and die maker and worked seven years for Quaker Manufacturing and previously worked for Sekely Tool and Die for 22 years. Dale served in the U. S. Army. He attended the Emmanuel Lutheran Church and was a life member of the Salem AMVETS Post 45, life member of the Italian Club, a member of the Salem Elks Lodge #305 and the Salem Saxon Club.
Dale loved to golf and got his first hole in one on July 17, 2014, at the Sable Creek Golf Course golfing with his father-in-law, Walter Ulrich and Randy Malmsberry. He also bowled in the Tuesday Night League, loved swimming and gambling. Dale especially enjoyed his family.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah (Ulrich) whom he married June 9, 1984; a brother, Cecil Emelo of Austintown; many nieces and nephews; and two cats, Duke and Duchess.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Louis, John and Joe Emelo; a sister, Betty Cook and two half sisters, Emelia and Grace.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Smearsoll officiating.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery with military honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard.
