'Big Backyard' program wraps up tonight on Second Street
SALEM - "Denise's Big Backyard," a program of the First Presbyterian Church of Salem, will wrap up its 2014 season today with "Carnival Night." The event will be held, rain or shine, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church, 436 E. Second St. All are invited for a time of food, fun and fellowship, free of charge.
Antique Truck Club show set at Cerni Motors in Youngstown
YOUNGSTOWN - Cerni Motors and Antique Truck Club of America will host the third annual Penn-Ohio Antique Truck Club of America Truck Show from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Cerni Motors, 5751 Cerni Place, Youngstown. Admission is free with at least one non-perishable food item for the Second Harvest Food Bank. The show includes antique trucks, food, vendors, air horns, flame thrower stacks and Jake "Break Offs."

SALEM - Open house at Buckeye, Reilly and Southeast schools will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 19. The first day of class is August 21.
Outreach to Survivors of
Suicide (LOSS) Team formed
LISBON - The Columbiana County Mental Health Recovery Services Board has organized a Local Outreach to Survivors of Suicide (LOSS) Team to assist loved ones of people who commit suicide. The Columbiana County coroner's office, Help Hotline Crisis Center, Columbiana County Job and Family Services, Ozer Ministries and Dawson Funeral Home are partners in this effort.
Beaver Local Athletic Hall of Fame's induction ceremony
LISBON - Tickets are still available for the the Beaver Local Athletic Hall of Fame's induction ceremony on Aug. 30 at the Columbiana County Career Center. A buffet dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $20.

Wednesday Night Bingo

SALEM - Doors open at 4:30 p.m. today for the Wednesday Night Bingo at the Saxon Club, 1980 state Route 9. Early bird games start at 6:30 p.m.

Leetonia Junior High School cheerleaders plan car wash
LEETONIA - Leetonia Junior High School cheerleaders will hold a car wash fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the Leetonia K-12 Campus. All monies raised will help defray the costs for their travel, uniforms and and supplies.
