SALEM - Stanley B. Marks, age 82, of Columbiana, a former 50-year resident of Syracuse, New York, passed away at 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Salem Regional Medical Center in Salem, Ohio.
He was born Nov. 5, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Stanley Marks and Hazel Della Hewitt.
He graduated high school in Jonesville, Mich. and before his retirement in 2010 was vice president of Orchard Earth and Pipe in Syracuse, New York for 25 years.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and 50-year member of the Centerville Lodge 648 F&AM in North Syracuse, NY, a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in the Korean War, a member of the American Legion Post 290 and member of the I.B.E.W. Union in Canton, Ohio.
Stanley was an excellent artistry painter, who enjoyed golfing, gambling, cards, bowling and was an avid reader.
Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
His wife of 54 years, Katherine (McGhee) Marks, whom he married Dec. 5, 1959 survives him along with a brother, Gene (Carla) Marks; daughter, Debra (Rick) Frank of Old Fields, West Virginia; son, Michael (Mary) Marks of Syracuse; granddaughters, Heather (Brian) McNally of Atlanta, Georgia, Erin Ozinsky of Balston Spa, New York, and Megan Marks of Syracuse; a step-granddaughter, Marie Ostrandu of Syracuse; and great-grandson, Lukas Jacobs of Syracuse.
Masonic Services provided by the Salem Perry Lodge F&AM #185 will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Betsy Schenk and Rev. Tina Gallaher officiating at the funeral home with military honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard following the service. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Regional Medical Center Charitable Foundation, 1995 East State Street, Salem, OH 44460.
