Ellsworth reunion held
ELLSWORTH TOWNSHIP - The 80th annual Ellsworth School reunion will be held on Aug. 2 at the Ellsworth Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall on Ellsworth Road.
A coverdish luncheon will be served at 12:30 p.m. All teachers and students who attended Ellsworth Township schools before the consolidation with Berlin Center are invited to attend with their families and classmates. Attendees are to bring a coverdish and table service. Beverages will be furnished.

WP Lions hold meeting
WEST POINT - West Point Lions Club President Marie Amato called the July 21 meeting to order with 25 members present. The club will have a food stand at the Columbiana County Fair from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A sign-up sheet was available for members to pick their shift. The Zone Nine meeting will be held Aug. 16. Members are encouraged to attend.
Governor's night on Aug. 13 at the Lisbon Lions Club features Gov. Barb Sorkin as speaker. The Aug. 4 meeting is clean-up day at the fairgrounds. Sandy Conn won the 50/50.
R-Weigh groups meet
SALEM - The R-Weigh weight support groups met at 1 and 5 p.m. Monday at the First Friends Church. Gerry Heffinger presided at the afternoon meeting and Patty Miles did a program on various subjects. JoAnne Bogdan was the goalie for the week.
The Salem Sluggers beat the Happy Hitters 7 to 4, winning their fourth baseball game to the Hitters winning three games. The Hitters have to win next week to stay alive or the afternoon baseball contest is over.
Heffinger also presided at the evening meeting with Barb Smith reminding the members of using your hand as a portion estimate. Peggy Kurtz gave the inspiration for the week and Jo Carol Gray did a program on "Seven Rules to Lose Weight." Polly Barton, Jane Schaffer and Jean Tully were the good losers for the week. Sharon Bigalow and Shirley Dias were the goalies. Jesse Rea received the monetary birthday award for losing over her birthday.
The Disney Divas beat Diane's Diamond Dolls 19 to 18 winning their fifth baseball game to the Dolls winning two games. The Dolls will provide for the picnic on Aug. 11 and the Divas will be treated like queens. It was decided that the teams will play the next two games for fun and the reward for the winning team will be announced next week.
