Still cleaning up in Lisbon

July 21, 2014
Salem News

A handful of hardy souls turned out for the community clean-up day in Lisbon Saturday. Despite the rainy conditions the Duke families of Salem and Lisbon, Ruth Ann and Richard Duke Sr. owners of Oak Glen Timber help their son Claude of Lisbon and his sons, 13-year-old Eli and 9-year-old T.J. Duke. Above, Claude Duke cuts apart a downed tree while his sons 9-year-old T.J. and 13-year-old Eli load wood they cut apart. A little over a month after the downburst the streets of Lisbon remain lined with debris and many of the damaged homes are covered with tarps awaiting repairs. (Salem News photo by Patti Schaeffer)
