- A Liverpool Township police officer was found to be at fault in the July 8 traffic accident that sent him to East Liverpool Hospital. According to the report released Tuesday, officer Kevin Hughes, 44, LaCroft, was westbound on Ada Street in Liverpool Township at 12:23 p.m. in a police cruiser and attempting to turn left from a stop sign at the state Route 267 intersection when he was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by Eric Michael Scott Hughes, 19, Chester, W.Va. Kevin Hughes was cited for stop sign.
