East Palestine - George K. Riley, Jr., 63, of West North Avenue, died at 6:45 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center after becoming ill at a holiday gathering.
George was born Nov. 30, 1950 in Salem, a son of the late George K. and Jean Gorby Riley, Jr., and was a life resident of the area.
He had owned and operated his own trucking company, George Riley Trucking, Inc., until retiring just last year. He was affiliated with the East Palestine Church of the Nazarene.
George is survived by a son, George Ken Riley II, a daughter, Melanie Walker, both of East Palestine; two grandsons, a sister, Joanne (Jim) Brown, of East Palestine; and, a brother, Michael Riley, of Columbiana.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home with Pastor Pamela Price of the East Palestine Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. www.oliver-linsley.com
