Grant awarded for pipeline training

Jason Wilson, Governor's Office of Appalachia director, along with congressmen Bill Johnson and Tim Ryan and local officials, are announcing $150,000 grant for the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 396. This money, from the State Appalachian Development Grant Program will be used to train workers for jobs related to the Marcellus and Utica shale operations. A new class of apprentices and displaced welders will be trained on pipeline construction and downhill welding technique at the Local 396 facility in Boardman.
