Girl Scouts take action against bullying

July 6, 2014
Salem News

Jane Christyson, chief executive officer of Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio, visited Canfield Village Middle School prior to the close of the school year to talk with sixth-grade girls in Troop 80420 about their Take Action Plan, an anti-bullying project. The students did research on both the effects of being bullied and those acting as bullies. They created a pledge for all students to sign after a presentation to each sixth-grade classroom. Students who agreed to sign the pledge were given a gold star to write a message on and sign. The gold stars will be kept by the principal to use if a bully problem arises.
