Firestone Fest vendor registrations due
COLUMBIANA - Vendor registration for the Harvey S. Firestone Festival of the Arts will remain open through July 15. Any artisans, crafters or antique dealers who would still like to attend this year's event can call the chamber office at 330-482-3822 for information.
The Harvey S. Firestone Park Festival of the Arts will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 2 at Firestone Park. There will be a wide variety of juried arts and crafts offered by local and regional artisans as well as antique dealers, food concessions and a farmers market. Throughout the day local performers will showcase their talents at the gazebo. A steam engine display will be added to this year's attractions. This event is sponsored by the Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce with proceeds benefitting various projects within Firestone Park.
Beaver Creek Wildlife Center open Friday
EAST LIVERPOOL- The Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center will be open for visitors from 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday.
NAMI Support Groups to meet
LISBON- NAMI Columbiana County Support Groups for family of choice members, friends and caregivers will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 14 and 28 at the Counseling Center in the multi purpose room. NAMI Connection Peer led support group meets from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. each Wednesday at the Counseling Center, Wing B Boardroom, state Route 154, Lisbon and from 5 to 6:30 p.m. each Thursday at Carnegie Library lower level in East Liverpool.
Crafters needed for Pioneer Craft Days
EAST LIVERPOOL- The Friends of Beaver Creek State Park is seeking crafters and artisans for the 36th annual Pioneer Craft Days Oct. 4 and 5. This is an outdoor festival held on the grounds of Beaver Creek State Park and Pioneer Village. The cost of a 20-foot by 15-foot space is $60 for the entire weekend. Only quality handcrafted merchandise is accepted. Crafts must be at least 80 percent handcrafted. Antique vendors are also encouraged to set up. All items sold by antique vendors must be authentic antiques. No home party business will be accepted.
Demonstrators of handcrafted items of the past are also welcome to attend. Basket makers, candle dippers, broom makers, woodworkers, dulcimer and other musical instrument builders. Also there will be an area for an antique farm equipment display. Crafters from are reminded that Aug. 31 is the deadline to pay your site fee to keep the same site as last year.
