Breakfast buffet offered
at Salem Masons Saturday
SALEM- The public is invited to a breakfast buffet from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Masonic Building, 788 E. State St. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children under age 10 and free for children under 2. The menu offers pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, homemade sausage gravy, biscuits, homefries, toast, fruit cocktail, orange juice, coffee and tea.
The building is equipped with a handicapped accessible elevator. Proceeds will be directed to the Salem Masonic Building Fund.
Pizza on menu at Saxon Club Wednesday Night Bingo
SALEM - All the pizza you can eat will be served to bingo players on Wednesday during the Wednesday Night Bingo at the Saxon Club, 1980 state Route 9. Cost is $5 per person which includes pizza with various toppings and iced tea, punch or coffee.
According to Annette Jermolenko, bingo manager, there is now reformatted seating for bingo at the Saxon Club. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. for players to purchase their regular cards, special games and daubers. Early bird games start at 6:30 p.m.
Jermolenko added that the kitchen will be also be open featuring hot dogs, coney dogs, sloppy joes, chips and assorted desserts for purchase.
Proceeds will be directed to the Saxon Club Scholarship Fund which benefits youth from the entire area, not just Salem. For more information contact Jermolenko at 234-564-5964.
Banquet in Salem offers pork chops, ice cream sundaes
SALEM - An anonymous donor will sponsor the Banquet in Salem from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Building, 785 E. State St. The menu offers stuffed pork chops, mashed potatoes, green beans, applesauce, fresh fruit and vegetables, and ice cream sundaes.

Fundraiser for Carol Robb campaign planned July 11
LISBON - A fundraiser for Judge Carol Robb will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. July 11 at the Guilford Lake Grille, 7094 E. Lake Road. Cost is $20 per person.

Faith Chapel Fellowship Fun and Safety Fest planned July 12
SALEM - Faith Chapel Fellowship's Fun and Safety Fest will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 12 in the municipal parking lot at 511 E. Pershing St. This free event, now in its third year, was set up to reach the Salem neighborhoods with fun and safety education. It allows children to meet police, firemen and first responders. The Columbiana County Drug Task Force will also be on hand to acquaint parents and kids about the dangers that drugs present.
State Farm Identikits will be available for parents to put together for each of their children in order to have easy access to emergency information when needed.
NERFing for Jesus, a ministry of Curtis Schaffer, will be this year's attraction. NERF Wars are designed to bring the community and the church together in a fun, non-hostile way. Other activities include pony rides, a bounce-a-round, games with prizes, face painting, a reptile display from Alchemy Acres and animals from the Bonar Farm. Free food and beverages will be available.

LISBON - The Beaver Local Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. July 14 in room two at the high school, 13187 state Route 7.
Quakertown Trolley tours
of Salem offered July 13
SALEM - The Salem Historical Society is offering tours on the Quakertown Trolley starting at 1:30 p.m. July 13.
A docent, dressed as a Salem Quaker, will take passengers back in time to the year 1856. Following the sharing of many stories, the travelers will return to the 21st century with a better understanding of the plight of slaves, the working of the Underground Railroad and the abolitionist movement that flourished in Salem prior to the Civil War.
The tour will last approximately 75 minutes. Cost is $10 per person. For reservations, leave a message at 330-337-6733 and your call will be returned.
During ghost walks, participants are taken around Salem, learning of the city's "haunted" past. The walk is held rain or shine. Cost is $10 per person.
The Salem ghost trolley tour takes people to famous graves and other "haunted" areas around Salem. Cost is $15. Reservations are required for both the walk and trolley tours. Casino bus trip offered;
reservations due by July 13
CLEVELAND - A casino bus trip to the Hard Rock Rocksino in Northfield Park will be held July 27. Buses depart at 12:30 p.m. from the Northeastern Ohio AllStars Gym at 1390 Wardingley Ave, Columbiana; and at 1 p.m. from the Home Depot at 4873 Portage St., North Canton.
