SALEM - Vicki Lynn Sevek, 60, of Salem, died at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday at Salem Regional Medical Center in Salem.
She was born on June 4, 1954 in Salem, daughter of the late Frank James Sevek Sr. and Deloris Mae (Campbell) Sevek.
She has been a resident of the area most of her life. She was a 32-year employee at Blackhawk Industries, where she last worked in the shipping/receiving warehouse.
She was a 1972 graduate of Southern Local High School and a member of the former St. Patrick Catholic Church in Salineville. She loved to garden and have her vegetable garden, doing things for her nieces and nephews, and a diehard animal lover. Her favorite time of year was the Fourth of July. She could put on such a celebration that it could put others to shame. She was a person who liked to keep things just in case you need it some day.
She is survived by siblings, Irene A. (Calvin) Sevek-Sell and Timothy E. (Tonya) Sevek, and step-mother Violet Sevek, all of Salineville, Ohio; her caregiver and roommate Brenda Jenkins of Salem; many nieces and nephews and other adopted relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Frank James Sevek Jr.
In honor of Vicki, if you are able, please wear red, white and blue for her love of the Fourth of July at the funeral.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. The Fr. Steven Wassie of St. Paul's Catholic Church will officiate. The burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Beloit, Ohio. A time of visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM on Friday. Please go and read the obituary or sign the guest book at .
