SEBRING - Michael W. Yoder Sr, 60, of Sebring died at his home Saturday after a brief illness.
Michael was born in Salem on Oct. 10, 1953, the son of the late Willis E. and Mary Ida (Haberland) Yoder.
He began working at the former Royal China during high school, from 1970-1985. He retired as a sergeant from the Sebring Police Department after 21 years of service, where he was named Police Officer of the Year in 1985.
Survivors include his two sons, Heath Lee Yoder and Michael W. Jr. (Nichole) Yoder; a granddaughter Hailey Nichole Yoder and his partner Cindy Dalton.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Freer officiating.
Friends may call from 12 to 2 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Michael's honor to Alliance Visiting Nurses.Hospice 885 S. Sawburg Ave. Ste. 106, Alliance, OH 44601.
