Bike rodeo set Saturday in Lisbon
LISBON - Columbiana County Park District's bike rodeo is slated from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Greenway Trail P.L. and W. Railroad Station, 232 S. Market St. Prizes will be awarded for Balance Beam, Tight Turn, Stop on a Dime and other challenges.
JOY?meeting planned at Salem church
SALEM - The Just Older Youth (JOY) meeting begins at1 p.m. June 4 at the First Christian Church on East Sixth Street. The guest speaker is Richard Scarsella who will discuss the history of Idora Park. Light refreshments will be served. Memories of the park will be shared following the program.
Rummage sale planned at Lisbon church
LISBON - The Lisbon First United Methodist Church, 114 E. Washington St., will hold its annual rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 6 and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 7 in the fellowship hall. A luncheon and bake sale will be held on Friday during the sale.
Red Cross swim session begins in June
SALEM - The Salem Community Center will host another session of the American Red Cross swim lesson program from June 9-19. Six Learn to Swim levels are available, along with a Mommy and Me level for infants and their parent. Cost is $70 for non-members and $55 for members. A multiple child discount is available. 'Tiny Tot' Day Camp set at Camp Taoka
EAST LIVERPOOL - Camp Fire is offering a "Tiny Tot" Day Camp adventure for children 3 to 5 years old (pre-kindergarten). Children and their favorite adult will explore nature from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Camp Fire's Camp Taoka, 12385 Echo Dell Road. Two dates are offered, June 17 or July 28. Cost is $17 per session.

Blood drive set at Alliance hospital
ALLIANCE - An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 12:30 to 6 p.m. June 5 in conference room 1-A at Alliance Community Hospital. All eligible donors are asked to schedule an appointment for this drive in order to help "head off" a severe shortage down the road.
Donors must be at least 17 years of age (unless 16 with a signed consent form from a parent/guardian), weigh no less than 110 pounds and be in general good health. A photo ID or donor card must be presented at the time of the donation.

Leetonia crossings to close for several hours
LEETONIA- Norfolk Southern Railroad will be closing the crossings in Leetonia to drop off new rail today or Thursday. Two or more crossings may be closed at a time due to the length of the equipment being used. The equipment being used to deliver the new track is 1.5 miles long and it will take several hours to unload the new track.
