HANOVERTON- The United school board approved several personnel moves at its regular monthly meeting Wednesday night.
The board hired Chris Kadvan as the new varsity boys basketball coach and Sarah Hodgson as the varsity girls soccer coach, both under one year supplemental contracts for 2014-2015.
The board also approved supplemental contracts for 2014-2015 for Lori Conser, sixth-grade choir; Heather Connor, elementary art; Karrie Varagliotti, elementary student council; Beth McGaffick, elementary SAP coordinator; Ann Cooper, head resident educator mentor; Dennis Klaustermeyer, technical advisor; Noleen Moore, volunteer coordinator; and Loretta McLaughlin, community education coordinator.
Additionally the board accepted the supplemental resignations of Kenny Beaumariage as varsity cross country coach and Dennis Klaustermeyer as assistant athletic director; and hired as summer workers Ashley McLaughlin, Emily Bokanovich, Garrett Beech and Blaine Reiter, custodial; and Adam Taucher, Nick Varagliotti and Dan Whitman, technology.
In other business the board also approved the five-year financial forecast presented by Treasurer Kathy Davies which projects a positive cash balance throughout the life of the forecast, with a $854,768 surplus in fiscal year 2018; however, deficit spending is predicted to begin next year, reaching an excess of $1.3 million in fiscal year 2018.
The board also accepted donations of $471 from the Target school spirit program to the High School Principal's Fund and $500 from the United PTO to support SOAR program incentives.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. June 18 in the high school library.
