Crash ties up Route 45

May 21, 2014
Salem News

Mary R. LaMarra, 69, of Salineville was transported by KLG ambulance to Salem Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries after a single-car crash Tuesday afternoon on state Route 45 just south of McCracken Corners near Salem. Traffic was halted in both directions for a little more than an hour. Leetonia firefighters/EMS had to extricate LaMarra from her Chevy Equinox. The extrication was affected by the fact that none of the airbags in LaMarra's vehicle had deployed, making it a more detailed cutting operation to get her out safely. According to the highway patrol, the vehicle was southbound on Route 45 and crossed over the northbound lane, coming to a stop in the ditch. LaMarra was wearing her safety belt. Trooper Race Baker is investigating the accident. (Salem News photo by Patti Schaeffer)
