LISBON - Columbiana County commissioners had little on the agenda at this week's meeting beyond routine business.
The one thing commissioners did act on was a disciplinary recommendation from county Department of Job and Family Services Director Eileen Dray-Bardon.
Based on the recommendation, commissioners agreed to suspend a worker in the children services division of the JFS for three days after she failed to act in a timely manner in regard to a complaint received while on call.
Dray-Bardon said when children services workers are on call over the weekend and receive a complaint they are required to assess the situation and then decide whether it merits an investigation, immediate or otherwise. If not, the investigator must still report the call within 24 hours.
Dray-Bardon said the worker decided the complaint did not warrant further investigation but failed to file a report within the required time frame, and this is the third time she has failed to do so in regard to complaint.
