Health Fair to offer free produce
SALEM - Free, fresh produce will be available at the Farmer's Market-Style Health Fair slated from 1:30 to 3 p.m. May 12 at 718 E. Third St. Information geared toward senior services will also be offered.
Salem Kiwanis to host antique, craft show
SALEM - Admission is free to the public when the Salem Kiwanis Club hosts its 50th antique and craft show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 19 at Centennial Park. The annual event offers food, music and basket raffles.
Kiwanis is now accepting dealer contracts for the show. Dealer spaces are available for $65. Contracts are available at clubrunner.ca/salemkiwanis or by calling 330-332-5145.
First Friends Church plans carryout dinner
SALEM - The First Friends Church at 1028 Jennings Ave. will hold its fly-by carryout dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. May 15, or until sold out. The meal includes glazed ham loaf, cheesy potatoes, seasoned green beans, roll and homemade cake. Cost is $8. Call the church office to reserve in advance at 330-332-0001.
Family and Consumer Sciences banquet set
SALEM - The Columbiana County Association of Family and Consumer Sciences annual banquet begins at 6:30 p.m. May 20 at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club. Entertainment will be provided by Chris Brown and his barbershop quartet.
Memorial Day services set in Hanoverton
HANOVERTON - Memorial Day services will be held on Sunday, May 18, in Hanoverton. The United High School band will lead the parade to Betz Park for the service at 2 p.m.
The Rev. Tom Allmon will give the invocation. The featured speaker will be United Local Superintendent Steve Viscounte. The Gettysburg Address will be delivered by Travis Miller. In the event of rain, services will be held in the Hanoverton Presbyterian Church.
Hunting Club's youth day planned
SALEM - All girls and boys ages 8 through 15 are invited to the Salem Hunting Club's 32nd annual youth day which begins at 11 a.m. May 18. Registration begins at 10 a.m.
The club provides everything,free of charge, including T-shirts, door prizes, food and beverages. Participants are encouraged to bring their own eye and ear protection if possible. Girls and boys may win trophies in their age class.
Columbiana Chamber breakfast offered
COLUMBIANA - Reservations are still available for the Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce's business breakfast at 7:30 a.m. May 30 at Das Dutch Haus. Todd Alexander with NewBold Technologies will present information on "Cyber Safety and Security for Your Business." The breakfast is open to the public. Cost is $15 for non-chamber members, $10 for chamber members. Reservations may be made by calling the chamber office at 330-482-3822.
