Amelia “Mimi” Serago

LOUISVILLE -Amelia "Mimi" Serago, 96, formerly of Lisbon died at 4:19 a.m. Thursday at the St. Joseph Care Center.

She was born July 22, 1917 in Leetonia, the daughter of the late Anthony and Maria (Ungaro) Mauro.

She had worked as deputy auditor for the Columbiana County Auditor's Office under Kenneth Bell for more than 20 years.

She was a member of St. George Roman Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Leetonia High School.

Survivors include her daughters Deanna Huntsman of North Canton and Cindy (Stephen) Chestnut of Leetonia; four granddaughters:, four great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters

Her husband, Harry Serago, whom she married March 11, 1943, died July 4, 1995. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday at St. George Catholic Church, celebrated by the Rev. James Land and the Rev. Robert Edwards. Calling hours will be observed from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the Weber Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
