HANOVERTON - John Earl Richey, 73, of Hanoverton, died at 7:18 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the University Hospital of Cleveland following heart surgery.
He was born April 29, 1941, at the homestead on Richey School Road in Hanover Township, son of the late Homer Niswonger and Camille (Crosser) Richey.
A member of the first graduating class from United High School in 1959, he worked for Snyder's Construction and then D.W. Dickey's before retiring in 2004.
He married Linda Joyce Moser of Hanoverton on August 21, 1965 and had three children.
A sister, Barbara Amon preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Richey of Hanoverton; two daughters, Pam Richey of Centreville, Ala., and Peggy (Bradley) Harris; three grandchildren, Matthew, Maggie and Christopher Harris, all of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; a son, Paul Richey of Canton, Ohio; a sister, Carol (Arnold) Bruckner of Salem; two brothers, William (Linda S.) Richey of Midwest City, Okla., and Kenneth Richey of Salem, Ohio.
Family graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at the Grove Hill Cemetery with Pastor Tom Allmon officiating.
There are no calling hours. Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery.
