NEW SPRINGFIELD - Russell Vern Kozicky, 84, of New Springfield, died Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Born Sept. 7, 1929, in Youngstown, he was the son of the late Anthony and Ernestine (Lodwick) Kozicky.
A graduate of South High School, Mr. Kozicky enlisted in the Army in March 1951. He was stationed in Germany for two years during the Korean War, until he was honorably discharged in March 1953. Upon returning home, he was employed by United States Steel as a chemist for many years, until he retired in 1980.
He leaves three daughters, Brenda Lee Kozicky of Eugene, Ore., Carol Marie Bolchalk and her husband John of Kernersville, N.C., and Diane Louise Graft and her husband Dave of Columbiana; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death Oct. 12, 2013, by his wife Betty Lou, whom he married July 18, 1951.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm St., Columbiana, with Pastor Jim Carmany officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services on Friday.
