LISBON - The Columbiana County Buckeye Dairy Boosters hosted its annual spring banquet on April 6 at Lock 24 Restaurant.
A brief business session was held, and members were asked to help at 4-H Experience Day on May 16.
Lana Lowmiller gave a report on the Ice Cream barn. She said the flavor of the year will be mint chocolate chip and that there will be a new milkshake flavor added, "The Purple Cow" (black raspberry).

Profits from Wednesday sales during the fair will be donated to the Columbiana County Fair's new grandstands.
The 2013 Dairy Princess, Elaina Zehentbauer, gave a report on her reign as princess. She participated in the 4-H Experience Day, the Farm Bureau farmer's share breakfast, drive-it-yourself tour, Ohio Holstein sale at Kiko's Farm and Whiteleathers Farm, Hanoverton's Peddlers Day Parade, Holstein District Dairy show, and United Young Farmers Barnyard Dash.
During the Columbiana County Fair she was in the ice cream eating contest, handed out ribbons at the dairy shows, opening ceremony parade, made a basket for the silent auction and handed out ice cream coupons at mini showmanship. She is the daughter of Richard and Jennifer Zehentbauer of Hanoverton and currently a senior at United Local High School. Elaina will study at the University of Akron this fall, majoring in chemical engineering. Upon completion of her reign as dairy princess, she received a $500 scholarship.
Also receiving a scholarship was Dawn Berry, daughter of Kevin and Melissa Berry of East Rochester. Dawn is currently a senior at United Local High School. She will attend The Ohio State University main campus this fall, majoring in zoology/veterinary medicine.
There were six contestants for dairy princess this year. They are: Morgan Harding, daughter of Mark and Kelli Harding of Columbiana, a sophomore at Crestview; Rebecca Bock, daughter of Larry and Jodie Bock of Hanoverton, a sophomore at United; Kelly Heffinger, daughter of Jeff and Connie Heffinger of Salem, a freshman at United; Darlene Smith, daughter of Jeff and Jennifer Smith of Wellsville, a sophomore at Southern Local; Whitney Stear, daughter of Scott and April Stear of New Waterford, a senior at Crestview; and Sara Fraser, daughter of Anne Marie Fraser of Beloit, a sophomore at West Branch.
The judges were Myron Smith of Farm Credit and Jill Zehentbauer Stroup, a former dairy princess.
Elaina Zehentbauer crowned the new dairy princess, Sara Fraser, who received a tiara, sash, flowers and necklace with an ice cream cone and tiara charms. The first runner-up was Whitney Stear and second runner-up was Kelly Heffinger.
