DENVER, N.C. - Irene W. Early, 96, of Denver, formerly of East Palestine, died at 10:47 a.m. Sunday at the Olde Knox Commons in Huntersville, N.C.
Born Sept. 29, 1917, in Unity, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Frederick) Pierce.
Mrs. Early had been employed as a cafeteria aide for the East Palestine School District for 20 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of East Palestine.
Her husband, Frank L. Early, whom she married March 1, 1938, died May 2, 1996.
Survivors include three daughters, Frances (Samuel) Anderson, Cynthia J. Early, and Elaine (Christopher) Easterling, all of Denver, N.C.; two sons, Charles C. (Maureen) Early of East Palestine and Michael J. (Judy) Early of Richardson, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home in East Palestine. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services Friday at the funeral home.
