SALEM - Edith Lorraine (Wilde) Rogowsky, 90, of Salem, died at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday at Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Damascus.
She was born on Jan. 16, 1924 in Salem, the daughter of the late Robert H. and Rebecca Pearl (King) Wilde Sr.
She was a lifelong area resident and a member of the Salem First Friends Church. She retired in 1985 from the mail room of Church Budget Envelope Company. She was a 1942 graduate of Leetonia High School.
She enjoyed gardening and her flowers, crocheting and crafts, but especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca May (Ronald H.) Craig and Durwood "Buster" (Martha J. ) Rogowsky, and sister-in-law Pat Wilde, all of Salem; the grandchildren, Jennifer (Bryan) Cannon, Heidi Walchick, Michael (Tobey) Rogowsky, Ben (Sarah) Craig, Amy Craig, and Erin (Brett) Bonner; and 12 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Durwood "Butch" Rogowsky whom she married on July 15, 1943 and who died on Oct. 16, 2005, and all her siblings, Robert and Russell "Bud" Wilde, Annabell Stallsmith and Florence Szekely.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. The Rev. Pete Fowler of the church will be officiating and burial will be in Hope Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
